Every year, every game, this guy is getting better. I'm starting to think he is as good as Jimmy right now. Love him or hate him, his work commitment is excellent and you cannot deny that he IS getting better
It's about time I give some props to Eric Smith. He's nearly gotten three picks today while Pool has been no where to be seen.
Now if only he could learn how to cover a TE... Like his play, but seriously the recurring image of him in my mind is getting schooled by whitten last week on that long pass.
Smith does get better and better. His run support has always been stellar..but slowly he is becoming a complete safety. Only thing that scares me about his growth is that he may be one or if lucky two concussions away from retirement. Seems like he has become a much smarter tackler too...so...we shall see.
what's really funny is if you google aaron williams, in like the 2nd row of images or so is a picture of Tanny
Good call. I think he has not been given enough credit for his performances, especially after Jim went down last year; he often gets caught in no man's land but he reading the game better every week. I like his progress.
Mmm... every time we go against a strong TE he get's schooled. I still think FS is a position of need for this team... Smith is solid at best.
Wait....I read through the game thread last week. I thought E. Smith sucks and he shouldn't be on the team? There are some real bi-polar fans on this site, and what a coincidence, none of them have posted in this thread. A real shocker. Eric Smith can play...I would think any Jets fan with a semblance of intelligence should know that by now. Is he Ed Reed? Of course not. Is he a productive safety who can tackle? Yes. Is he gonna get burned sometimes? Yes. Do safeties get burned in this league? All the time.
Eric Smith is looking better and better. Dude can hit hard... and yesterday he looked like a ball-hawk. Big props!
Glad to see he is finally getting some credit around here. Do you really think Ryan would have wanted to re-sign him and bring him back if he didn't think he was good?
