Is he hurt? Why didn't he play last week? Is He playing today? He gives us a better chance to win than Forte.
Forte looks solid so far. I'm in favor of playing the kid, but I also don't mind having Forte in there for pass protection purposes and what not. He can stonewall defenders in pass protection.
I like him...personally I think the 3 back rotation is going to work. Certainly will make sure that Forte gets through the season and we don't run the "tires" off of Powell.
Powell is likely to lose a step next year unless he's a fitness fanatic who is working hard all the time to keep his edge. McGuire is the only tailback on the roster likely to be on the Jets 2020 roster and maybe 2019.
Maybe they don't want to burn Powell out. He definitely needs snaps, but let them run Forte straight into retirement in this lost season.
I just don't get why he isn't getting 20 carries a game. Every time he touches the ball even if its a yard, the gain is positive. Just wasting away the talent of a player we drafted/developed/resigned
I love this kid! Who says preseason doesn't matter?!? Kid flashed in preseason and looking like the real deal. 69 yard TD run for his 1st career TD and looking like he could develop into our next featured back. Today has shown the world. Fk old man Matt Forte! It's all about Powell & Elijah moving foward as our 1-2 punch; or at least it should be: it better be.
I was getting so pissed watching other teams find late round gems at RB while we sat on our hands. Hello, Elijah.
He looks electric when he gets the ball. Quick cuts and just hits the hole correctly. He needs to get more touches. There is no reason why Forte should sniff the field the rest of the season
