Would you guys take a very underachieving quarterback in Eli Manning or a proven qb with a weaker arm in Pennington, or a good looking up and comer in Clemens?
I'd take either Clemens or Manning before Pennington, as Penny's best days are far, far behind him... Manning has proven more, both positively and negatively, than Clemens, and I do not like what I've seen out of him... I've gotta go with Clemens, just based on raw potential
That sums it up for me. Eli is Eli. Not goign to get much better at this point I think. Chad had his day and is done as a starting NFL qb IMO.
I would take Clemens only because I don't believe Eli or Chad are superbowl caliber QB's. I don't have an opinion one way or the other on Clemens yet so he gets my vote by default.
I would easily take Clemens over Manning, at least Clemens know when he can and cant fit it in to coverage....for the most part... ( 6INT, 3TD doesnt agree with that statement) but he has looked good as of late... Pennington, I still take him over Eli, weak arm or not, I think Penny with the Giants would put up better numbers...all granted his arm ordeal gets sorted out, I still think its hurting a bit this year....from a hit maybe, I dunno...it might explain why he doesnt go deep often, and only when he is pressured to by the media and fans..
I would take Eli except for the value is all Clemens. He has a palatable contract and room to improve.
I've said it thrice, and I'll say it again . . . Eli Manning is The Lord of the Dufuses and The Emperor of His Own Anus.
Re-visiting this thread... I was among many who said I'd rather have Kellen than Eli.... Right now, I'm not so sure... I guess it depends on whether or not Kellen ever gets us a Lombardi... BUT! I am laughing my ass off at the 5 who chose Penny Let the record show, before the bump... Eli Manning: 3 Chad Pennington: 5 Kellen Clemens: 16
Wow... That's funny. At the time though, Manning was a completely different QB. Now he's a top QB in the NFL after this simply outstanding postseason performance. Props to him and the Giants
Still not sure about the answer - Eli gets all of the props for winning the SB and getting that last TD (how did he avoid that sack?), but the story of the game was obviously the way the Giants front 7 destroyed the Pats o-line.
WOW. One of these qb's has won a Sb, the other two have not been even close. Anyone who picked Penny is delusional. WOW. I've trashed Eli before, but his performance in that last drive was simply spectacular.
Yeah...before reading the posts I voted for Eli and it was 16-12 Clemens and was like what? Are people crazy? Then I read the date on the first post and was like oooooohh..
Eli just won a fuckn Super Bowl! God dammit. Pound for pound he's the best of the three. Why? Why? Why even during the salary cap era do the Jets have to be worse than the Giants??
