I think with another year in the system and building chemistry with Sanchez, Braylon will probably have the better season.
If you are comparing 12 games vs 12 games - Holmes. Otherwise Edwards 4 games head start should see him return better figures overall.
I'm a borderline Braylon fanboy, don't expect me to be impartial here. Edwards probably puts up more TDs, fewer yards and moans less when he doesn't get the ball.
I'm still skeptical that Edwards hasn't outgrown his dropping-ball-itis... I think if you compare 12-12 Holmes will have more yards and catches.. I'll give Edwards the edge on TDs though.
I think Holmes will put up better numbers on a per game basis. They both get separation, but Holmes has much better hands.
^ Right, there really cannot be a comparison, unless they both are playing the same role. I.E. if both Holmes and Braylon serve as the #1 receiver on the Jets, then you can compare them and say which had the better season. But both serving as the #1 receiver is impossible. Holmes, coming in after 4 games will probably serve as the slot receiver. But to answer the question I think you are asking, statistically, Braylon will be up from last season and Holmes will be down.
The four game head start certainly favors Braylon, but after that I think Holmes will get more oppurtunities underneath, with Braylon handling the number 1 corner. First time, long time by the way. Glad to be here...by far the best Jets board out there.
I think it is going to be Braylon for like the first 4 weeks and then Santonio will start making some big plays and by like week 10 it will be Santonio for sure. Then I see Braylon making a comment here or there that sounds disgruntled and I see him being gone next offseason. Probably to the Pats.
By the end of the season I expect Holmes to be the better target, but overall Edwards will probably have the better season.
edwards dropped the ball against buffalo in canada then dropped the ball in back to back weeks against cincy. i cant reacall the others but i remember groaning alot more than 4 times
Holmes will have the better numbers cause he has better hands but Braylon's x-factor is the "San Diego Chargers" effect where he can "out tall" CBs....
