    Well,

It appears as though edwards has begun his campaign of blameshifting, dodging, and talking his way out of trouble already in KC -- BEFORE THE SEASON EVEN STARTS. I'm just blown away by how this guy continually speaks with a forked tongue and, in my opinion, is just completely egotistical.

Read this article and tell me what you think. You'll have to read between the lines a little bit, but to me it's plain as day: http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/columns/story?columnist=pasquarelli_len&id=2387569

It seems like he already knows that he will suck in KC. He's already using the age of his players as an excuse, even before the Preseason

All I know is, is that Larry Johnson is going to get about 1,000 carries this season.

Herman is going to use that guy SOOO much...Larry Johnson could have 2000 yards next year.

He ran Curtis to death, he will do the same with Johnson.

I love it. I'm going to root really hard against KC, I hope they go 4-12 like the jets did last season... then i'll enjoy the fireworks that Herm sends up to distract everyone afterwards.

That's definitely true, and the reason why I will be taking Larry Johnson in the first round of my fantasy league (if available).

Herm sucks, and I hope it takes KC a while to figure that out.

Its funny that Penny responds to a post about excuse making with a sig that says McCarreins was hurt all year and we didn't trade Doug Jolley for our first.

Wah, wah, wah, Penny. Give it up. We traded Doug Jolley for the chance to get Heath Miller and WR's are dinged up all the time. Justin was just bad last year.

    No excuses!

I love this part. It's like he was picked up a tornado and magically whisked away to KC. Did he not look at or know the Chiefs roster before he took the job?

    hahahahahaha

"Whew. What happened here?" Is there a more perfect summation of Herm Edwards as a coach then this?

It's probably safe to say Trent Green won't have another 4,000+ yard season. I'd be surprised if he makes 3500.

I never said anything about Herm making excuses so I dunno what was funny about that.

"We traded Doug Jolley for the chance to get Heath Miller"

Sorry pal we traded for Doug Jolley so we didnt have to draft Heath Miller, whom by the way was overrated...everytime he caught a TD last season Jets fans wanted to kill themselves...

    A few Thoughts:

    1) The reason Herm was AT ALL a somewhat good fit in KC was because they were already set and ready to "Go For it". Not many teams have Less juglling to do than KC - Stop your whining.

    2) Herm is 1 hit away from another QB disaster.

    3) "It's a really hard thing to do, but we've got to address it, definitely," "People say you can't do it overnight, to fix everything at once, and that's true. [But] if you don't hurry up and take care of things, when you go [down], you go [down] fast."

Yeah thanks - Jet fans know this all too well.

At some point this stuff should probably go into the NFL Forum, right?

Anyway, my impression was exactly the same as 3rd's - why is it that everyone on this board knew that he was stepping into a situation with lots of good players just past their peaks, but this was a great surprise to him? I'd be interested to know what the reaction of KC fans is to him admitting to being that clueless? (Clueless, that is, if you take what he says at face value, which I don't.)

    Great point. Me neither.

IMO the guy looked completely baffled most of the time.

The only time he really looked confident was when he was spewing his BS at the podium after games.

"We lost because we didn't score points! To win in this league you have to score points! You can't not score points and still win! It's like playing pool and not sinking your balls. If you don't sink your balls you're not going to win. We just didn't sink enough balls tonight."

UGH am I glad he's gone!

"At first, when you look at it on paper, you don't think much of it," Edwards said. "But then you study it a little, and it's like, 'Whew. What happened here?' But it's a reality we have to address."

Herm talking to people like there morons again. Thank God this "paper" he talks about was viewed by him...or the average age of the chiefs would be in the 40's very soon. I wonder how long he had to "study" it before he realized the problem...Im still saying Curl found the problem...the numbers guy.

KC lucked out big time here.

He's pretty much the concensus #1 or #2 pick so, there's really no bargain here or need to think too hard.... Not sure how Herm Adds to the Equation as if ANY coach plus LJ wouldn't be gold.... I just have a problem saying Offense and Herm in the same sentance unless we're talking Offens-IVE. He's Brutal, he's got ZERO thoughts or plan for an offense and they better hope they can keep the system alive without Al Saunders......

He was Fantasy Gold last year as a 4th or 5th round pick - Not sure how much better it can get with the new Clown as a Head Coach - And if they lose Trent Green, then LJ will be pretty average.
