http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=6001561 Apparently running from the cops. They've called off a search after he jumped into the Mississippi. I know Reed was already questionable, but, after something like this, I would think he's heading home.
Even if he does play...that's some heavy shit to have on your head during a playoff game. Reed is definitely a professional though.
"The suspect jumped into the river, went about 15 feet according to the deputy," Sgt. Dwayne LaGrange, a spokesman for the St. Charles Parish Sheriff's Office, told WWLTV.com. "At some particular point they said he did witness hands and head come up and go under the water and never resurface again." damn..
http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/01/08/ed-reed-my-brother-would-want-me-to-play/ If the dude died, he did it running from the cops. Was he stealing? Sounds like the media is acting like this is some kind of tragedy. Don't run from the cops, and don't jump into a river.
I feel bad for the Reed family and all, but this is his own damn fault. Don't run from the cops, guilty or not, and jump into the damn Mississippi. .....
im guessing it went down something like this ed reeds brother "im ed reeds brother" cop "i dont care" ed reeds brother jumps into water
As much as people want to say fuck his brother, his brother is a criminal, I still feel sorry for him. I know how I feel about my brother and I wouldn't be too joyful if he jumped off a bridge. It really sucks.......... Although, if my brother was a criminal, I would love for him to take out a few SOJF's along the way.
The reports say that the police were trying to stop him because they " thought " he was in a stolen vehicle. Whether or not he was, has not been said. Reed's brother has a history of drug abuse. I have a brother with drug problems. I hate the addiction and what it has done, but I love my brother. If he died, I would have the same pain as any of you who live within a pristine family. I'm guessing Reed feels the same way. When you think about your sibling who has substance issues, you still remember the Christmas's when you were little, the stupid things you did together, the secrets you shared growing up, the time your brother beat up the school bully for picking on you. The innocence of our youth long ago when we also had a " pristine " family life. Some of you need to understand that while society can see, and rightfully so, the person as a criminal, a disposable person, etc.; those of us who love them see something entirely different. And to those of you who have written unkind things, I sincerely hope you never face adversity yourselves or within your family , because obviously you don't have the heart or guts to make it thru it. I don't think I could go to work the day after something lie this happned to one of my own, I'm sure it's going to be a hard day for Reed. My thoughts and good wishes go out to him and his family.
You know what? Well said. It's part of the influence of the media, which paints people as either good guys (worth caring about) or bad guys (worthless).
I've heard those kinds of statements from people, and what people are completely missing is that people shouldn't let the brother's issues affect how they feel about the situation. I feel bad for the Reed family, and for Ed in his loss of a brother. If he was a good guy or bad guy may affect how one thinks of that person's death alone, but it's hard not to feel bad for the family.
no, it's a fair statement. it's a fact that when someone dies, Ray Lewis won't help you find out how or why if he knows something.
