Let's start off with I have the greatest girlfriend. Called me today and told me for Christmas she wants to take me to a Jets game. I have never been to one before. So I need some details out of you guys With her college schedule, the only home games that are available for us to go to would be the Thanksgiving game vs the Bengals and the last home game of the year vs the Bills. As a Jets fan, I would like to go to the Bills game for obvious reasons. Rival, last home game, will most likely be fighting for a playoff spot. As a fan of possibly missing a long boring day with the family full of women.. Thanksgiving would be great as well. And it would be much warmer for the lady friend. So for some questions.. What would be our best bet, seating wise? Upper section, middle of the field? Lower section, endzone? Endzone would be cheaper correct? Thanksgiving tickets more expensive? What would be our best value, concerning money, atmosphere, sightlines.. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks guys
You'll probably score Thanksgiving tickets cheaper than the Bills tickets, all other things being equal, IMO. Thanksgiving game will probably get you a better seat location for less money, making it a better value, I suppose. The Bills game is a gamble. If we're in contention and need that win, the ticket prices will be up there, especially since the kids are still off from school on their Christmas break. But if we're 6-9 and have no shot at the playoffs, the stadium will be half empty and the tickets will be almost worthless, especially if the weather is terrible. You'll probably score more points with your girlfriend if you avoid the Thanksgiving game, however. She'll think it's "SOOO SWEET" and honorable of you to want to be with family and hang around with the girls at the Thanksgiving table talking about what kind of decorations you want for the tree this year and what Aunt Nellie needs for Christmas. Meanwhile it's 4th and One in the Red Zone and you're seeing this out of the corner of your eye, choking on your pumpkin pie, while the girlfriend is engaging you in even more family conversation. So, it all depends on which score you're looking for.
Haha, I don't think she would care at all about going on Thanksgiving. But thanks for the insight
Drop to your knees and propose to this one the next time you see her. This is a woman every Jets fan dreams about! It's kinda like the fisherman who runs the ad on Craig's List: "FEMALE WANTED ~ Gentleman seeking nice woman for romance and companionship who owns fishing boat and motor. Please furnish picture of boat and motor."
Thanksgiving game without a doubt. Hopefully the Bills game is meaningless by that point. Oh and the Bills at home is almost always a HORRIBLE GAME.
Thanksgiving man! Yea Lower End Zone is best too. I sit in the mezzanine but they are changing ridiculous prices on Thanksgiving for that. Have you feast in the parking lot ...our Bus Tailgate will be cooking thanksgiving dinner and the whole 9. Gonna be a great game too!
just scored some Thanksgiving tickets from a friend who can't go! Very excited. Second year in a row watching Jets vs. Bengals, hoping for same result, but warmer weather
Aim for lower level end-zone seats. Chicks will dig those seats more so than the Upper Deck seats, where there will always be a lot of clowns up there with snide comments. I mean, you'll get that anywhere, but chances are in the new stadium you won't get them as much in the lower bowl. Plus, I have season tickets in the LLEZ and I can tell you first hand that the sight lines are 10x better in this stadium than they were the last in the LLEZ. They're worth the money, plus for Thanksgiving the tickets will be cheaper because a lot of people will be practically giving them away because not a lot of people are able to leave their family parties to attend an NFL game. Thankfully I'm lucky enough where my family understands how important the Jets, and going to Jets games, are for me.
I could only get a 1/2 can drank that night before my beer froze also. My buddy had Captain Morgan and Creme Soda, changed to that, actually tasted pretty good. Glad I didn't drink as much as he did, he ended up sick and slept it off in the car and missed the game. The avatar is what Captain Morgan and Creme makes you look like
We drank like fish before the game, bottles of high alcohol beer do not freeze as quickly. We set our fire right on the asphalt, no ring. It was so damn cold...
Keep in mind the Cincy game we speak of last year was the first weekend in January, and we had to deal with freezing beer. It was the coldest night I remember dealing with in my life. And that is when the Bills game will be, if it is a game that means a playoff spot, there is always the possibility that it gets moved to 8:30 pm, like this Cincy game last year. Besides, the title of your thread is "Early Christmas Present", so the Bills game doesn't qualify as such.
That tailgate was a true test of character. Me and my buddies had nothing but a 30 pack and a football. No fire or food for 3 hours.
