One of my closest friends I'm not sure if you guys know him but He broke the 100 m record at 9.766.

    Heres his info
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Justin_Gatlin

I talked to him last friday he told me that the eagles been harrasing him and his agent about joining the team. He told me he doesn't want to get hurt or be injured for future olympics.

Holy Shit. But we dont even play the eagles it wouldnt be trouble for the Jets but maybe for other teams. So it shouldnt be in the New york jets forum.

lol Let Roy Williams hit him.

3.75 is absurd though, good for him.

but running in lines is far different from running routes with pads on, catching a ball then taking a hit.

If the birds sign him we may have to defend against him in the SB. This is clearly relevant as it may impact our 2006 championship rings. Good post.

Is that even possible? Don't you need horse steroids or something to do that?

He'd get broke in half anyway in the NFL.

The odds of him going to the NFL and playing well are remote. He's just not big enough.

How do you know him? very cool. When he broke the record the other day, I started to wonder how crazy it must feel to know that person out of all 6 billion people in the world, you are the very fastest- and with all of the advances in training and nutrition very likely the fastest man in the history of the human race. must be a crazy feeling.

As fast as he is though, I seriously doubt, he runs a 3.75. Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I thought a 10 second hundred meter translated to something like 4.25 speed in the 40.

Actually here's one person's opinion that says it's even slower:

I don't think it's even humanly possible to run faster than a 4.15 or so.

3.75 40 time? Dude Im not doubting hes fast but Im pretty sure the fastest player in the NFL runs like a 4.13 40. I dont even know if 3.75 is possible.

Doing the math... 100 meters is equal to about 109 yards.... which would mean that Gatlin runs about 3.6 in the 40 yard dash. Of course, the start would screw it up a little bit and he'd be in football spikes instead of track spikes... so he'd probably run about 4 flat on grass and in football shoes.

But as you say, Roy Williams or Ray Lewis would make sure he never wakes up.

A 3.6 is not possible by a human to my knowledge. The best I've ever heard were 4.1s that were wind-aided and run on ideal surfaces.
