How this guy made it to the NFL is a testament onto itself. Gives good head There are better kickers on high school Haki sack club
Let's all give a nice standing ovation and clap for the amount of threads and coverage a terrible punter like Ryan Quigley has received. Well done, Ryan!
Let's give him some credit--the shanks only occurred when kicking from deep in our territory--he boomed them when kicking from the 50.
I am scared now. I know we have 2 punters in camp and competing, but as long as he's out there I worry they might bring him back for some reason. Maybe I'm just being paranoid.
Mac already fired him, why would Mac change his mind so quickly when Quigley has done nothing to redeem himself? I wouldn't worry about that; Fitzpatrick and Wilkerson are bigger concerns. One of the Aussie punters will make the team and hopefully he'll do a good job.
I think that part of my paranoia is because I did not think the Jets were too bothered by the fact that Quigley was one of the worst punters with a starting job in the league by every measure. It also could be possible that both rookie punters don't show well in training camp and they will want to go back to the "veteran" option.
It was mystifying that they kept Quigley on the roster as long as he was - or that he even made it to the NFL (although maybe he was better in college? I don't know. But he can only punt to one side and he's not amazing at the other side, so I don't understand how that could ever be viewed as NFL caliber.) I'm sure he's a nice guy, but he's a lousy NFL punter. I'd be more worried if they brought in undrafted 1 rookie punter to "provide competition" for Quigley. In that case, it would seem like they believed in him but wanted to push him or make him try harder by feeling like he might get replaced. (That's what they often do with kickers and punters.) Instead they brought in two rookies to compete with each other, and cut Quigley even though they could've had a 3-way competition. Nope, it's a 2-way competition and they don't want Quigley to be a part of it. He's genuinely not a good punter and I think they've finally realized that - I mean, he also got the Special Teams coordinator fired. The only time Ryan Quigley will be back in MetLife Stadium will be if he buys a ticket.
He never ranked higher than 62nd among punters in college and his last year, his worst, he ranked 99th out of 113 FBS punters.
Think he ranked 62 in the NFL last year, WB...I'll see that 21 yard punt out of the end zone in Buffalo in my nightmares for a long time
