Was this guy even expected to be drafted at all. Seems like another big reach. The new FO seems to have a problem with falling in love with players and taking them many rounds early. I have no problem with Mangold and Ferguson as they both are immediate starters and building blocks for our future. But Clemens, Shelgal and Smith all seem to be taken 1-3 rounds early. Shlegal and Smith seem to be projected by scouts to be career back-ups and special teams players. The new FO seems to either know something no else does or maybe their lack of expereince and age is showing itself.
Another safety...okay, I'll buy it, this pick makes no sense to me. Esp since he has a history of injury problems, what is that? We could have kept McGraw if we wanted that.
So because he took a safety other than the one you wanted in the 3rd round, he's in over his head?
dude i get it, you think every pick is a good pick simply because Tangini made it. interesting way to be a fan, must be a lot of fun.
Durability could be a concern, as he has a long history of shoulder and knee problems...Better as a box player in run force than in man coverage, as he does not have the timed speed to mirror receivers one-on-one...Needs to play the man more than the ball, as he gambles going for passes, but does not have the timing down to get to the ball at its high point...Looks a little awkward in his backpedal due to tight hips, which hurts his turn and run ability...Not a natural hands catcher, as most of his interceptions have come after letting the ball absorb into his body...Did a much better job the last two years not biting on fakes, but was prone to taking wrong angles or eyeing the backfield too long in the past...His marginal timed speed will make him a liability in obvious pass coverage situations...Might need to bulk up and play a Cover-2 linebacker position if he can't improve his footwork and quickness.
