What happened to the Sanchez-Keller connection? is it just Holmes that took all his targets? Don't really care as long as we win games but it is weird. Keller was great in the first 5 games and now they seem lost out there. The Sanchez pass into Keller's facemask was the climax to the misunderstanding between them. Should we be worried?
No we shouldn't be worried. Maybe teams are so scared of Keller and they're doubling him? As long as the field is open for everyone else it's a non issue. If the offense was having trouble passing I'd be worried but Sanchez is playing as well as he ever has.
Holmes just went off for 126 yards and 2 TDs. Teams are going to have to start doubling him, eventually. I'm not that worried about Keller.
ok so everybody seems confident about this situation! If Keller is double teamed and opening up the field for our other targets then it is a great situation but I doubt it will last with all our offensive players!
Even when Keller is single covered or the play is designed for him, it looks like he and Sanchez are not on the same page. I don't know what happened.. I think this is a big reason our red zone offense went in the crapper.
Sanchez just had the best 4 game stretch of his short career and one of the best 4 game stretches of any QB in the NFL. Does any Jets fan really care who is on the receiving end of these passes??????
Cleveland had a Defensive end hit him off the line, covered him with a CB or LB and a safety over the top almost all game. He drew attention at the line and some doubles today but the connection just didn't workout. Don't know what happened on first pass but later Sanchez had him for a long gain but just got knocked of stride by Bernard Pollard on the helmet to helmet call. Had him open for a another long gain but Mario Williams had pressure and he had to tuck and roll. Teams have put a lot of emphasis on him and it's helped Holmes and Edwards. If teams have to pay more attention to Holmes and Edwards, you'll see Keller generate solid numbers again. Sanchez has had three straight 300 yd games (okay 300,299,300). Now if we just stop the Ground and Pound BS and decide that we are a balanced offense that can mix it up and do a lot of things well, we might start to take control of some games.
This is the beauty of this offense right now. Teams have been focusing on Keller a lot since his amazing September. Eventually they are going to have to pay attention to Edwards and Holmes and Keller will start getting his catches again.
Keller is killing me in fantasy. 0 points almost every week now. At the beginning of the year he was putting up 15+ easy.
Me too but ive been winning despite him so its not too terrible. He'll be back when teams decide to double cover Holmes and Edwards.
Keller seems to be getting a crap-ton of targets and yet few catches...unless he's running a 2 yard out.
