It's so obvious that our primary need right now is OLB.. we need someone to rush the passer!! Even with our ridiculous secondary, we didn't get as many sacks as we should. Imagine if we had players that could pose matchup problems without Rex's overload schemes?? Last season we were able to get pressure (and rarely sack) the opposing team's QB due to exotic blitzes and numbers.. but what if we able to get the same pressure without bringing as many people.. and when we did bring the house, there is no way we don't end up with a huge play.. We need an OLB (who specializes in rushing the passer) and JERRY HUGHES is that player.. He was named best DE in the country last season.. He led the nation in sacks in 2008.. He was a finalist for the bednarik award that I believe went to Suh.. He's just a beast and we need him to complete our defense.. He also need a DE that we can rotate in and eventually replace our aging veterans.. TYSON ALUALU has such a great motor and seems to play every snap as his last.. He looks like a player that doesn't take anything for granted.. Maybe he was never highly recruited so he never developed the "me" attitude that some of these players nowadays have.. He looks pretty quick and they say his run defense is his strength which would be perfect and free up our star LBs to make plays.. 1. There's a draft forum. Look for it. 2. You better provide some links for those scouting report, because I'm willing to bet you didn't write those. 3. Fuck Jerry Hughes.
Not being a wiseass...... yeah I have to disclaim shit.... Why is Jerry Hughes the suck? Short version is beyond cool.
He gets pushed around by bigger linemen, sucks against the run, and relies too much on speed against inferior talent. I don't think he fits into Ryan's scheme either. He likes heavier, more versatile players and Hughes certainly isn't that.
With Gholston still on the roster, I'm not convinced that Tannenbaum is going to use an early pick on another pass rusher.
I usually don't like to project players a year in advance but Von Miller certainly fits that description at 6'3" 240 lbs.
If Von Miller was in this draft, he'd be my top rush linebacker. I see a lot of Terrell Suggs in Miller. ...dude's just a nasty player.
You know a lot about football and you have clearly spent some time researching obscure players that most people wouldn't even bother looking at. However, is it really necessary to trash half the people who post on this site? Just because someone likes Jerry Hughes, it doesn't make them a bad, or ill informed football fan. I asked you this question in your anti Jerry Hughes thread but didn't hear back. I have a question-- You have said many times Hughes will be a successful 4-3 end, but he is just not suited for 3-4 olb. With the issues you list - bad hands, disappearing against the run, relies on speed, no rush moves, played against bogus right tackles, how does that translate into a good 4-3 end? Those flaws are even MORE detrimental for a 4-3 end becase he is lining up directly in front of a 325lb tackle. If he's not a good player because he's undersized and played weak teams, and relies on his speed, wouldn't you think that playing in space at OLB would be the ONLY way he could succede in the NFL?
Jerry Hughes is basically the same player as Robert Mathis. A guy that started his career as a situational 43 rush end because he had great speed off the edge. Mathis developed into a starter a few years down the road. TCU's defensive scheme makes players look a lot better than they are. Once again, stop bitching. Just because I didn't answer your question right away doesn't mean I don't have an answer for it. I just don't give a damn about what you have to say - you constantly complain about the older posters and it's annoying.
