I saw the film for Barrett against Alabama. Great high motor guy who showed the ability to get after the QB... Barrett practically controlled Kouandjio that game. In addition to Barrett's ability to get in the backfield he also has shown good instincts and the ability to get out in coverage. One specific play that impressed me was when Barrett lined up as DE and came off his blocker to cover Yeldon taking McCaaron's check down away and forcing him to scramble out of the pocket and throw it away. The play is at 3:43.

An interesting fact I found on Barrett is he was one of only two players to record at least 10 sacks, 20 tackles for loss, and 80 total tackles.

Two of the biggest reasons he's projected to be drafted so low in my opinion is his size and the school he's from.

    What are your thoughts?

He looks slow as molasses and does Not get off his blocks, he shows decent hustle but that's about it, training camp fodder.

Doesn't look like he had a problem shedding blocks in this game. I think he needs to be a little more consistent but I don't think it would hurt draft him in the 7th round or sign him if he goes undrafted.

His Pro Day is next week Wednesday so let's see how he does on the bench, the 3-cone, and shuttle.

I guess our perception of what we're seeing is different, I don't see him shedding blocks well at all in this video, but that's not saying he can't do something in the future but for now I don't see it.

The OP brought up he beat Kouandjio, take that with a grain of salt. IMO, Kouandjio is one of the most overrated players in this draft. Kouandjio has showed he has trouble with edge rushers and was exposed.

Also, it was to believed he had knee issues, not true, just got a clean bill of health from Dr Andrews.

Not really (pertaining to what you said about the stats)... I mean to me it seems like he's constantly in the backfield and in on the play more than a few times a game. He was awarded Mountain West Defensive Player of the Year this season so he's not really a scrub. I made the thread because it's a small school player who I think could be a steal should we draft him in the last couple rounds or sign him as a UDFA. Can't just talk about the household names and say the same things about them 12 different ways. For the record don't read that last sentence in a condescending tone because its not meant to sound like that haha.

I came across this analysis of him. You could check it out if you want. Way more in depth than the very brief information I provided.

Sorry, I just don't see it. What difference does it make if the motor is constantly revving but the car is stuck in neutral? ;) That is to say, he does have problems getting off blocks and is pretty slow. He doesn't give up on plays, that's about the only good thing I saw. I won't be upset if he's a UDFA or 7th round pick unless he's the only rookie OLB the Jets bring in.
