sanchez connor kerley hill coples davis ellis wilkerson ducasse connor keller mcknight sure there is more
Sanchez Greene Slauson Wilson Ducasse McKnight Conner Wilkerson Ellis Powell Kerley Coples Hill Davis Bush Allen 16 picks in 4 year, 16 picks in 4 years, 16 FUCKING PICKS IN 4 YEARS
Part of that is trading a lot of picks. a 2nd rounder turned into Cromartie. 5th into Holmes. Tebow is a 4th. Traded picks to move up for Sanchez, Greene, and Hill.
Since 2009 we have selected 21 players via the draft. Teams that always have depth available? New England 40, Pitt 35, NYG 32. Our front office has no respect or value for the draft, as evidence by pissing away picks for players we do not need (tebow), or to trade up 4 slots in the 2nd round to draft a raw project with potential (hill).
2nd for Cromartie could have been Justin Houston, Demarco Murray, Sam Acho 5th for Holmes was fine but still could have been Antonio Brown same type of player less headache 4th for Tebow could have been Ladarius Green(athletic freak at TE) we didnt need a QB we had Stanton and McElroy keep your picks, do heavy scouting and draft BPA late in the draft
Hill would have been there since the only WR chosen between that spot and our original spot was Alshon Jeffrey who fit in Chicago better than Hill would have, imagine getting back that 5th and getting Marvin Jones or Alfred Morris late
how many times have the Jets traded a late pick and a guy gets picked around that spot and we say the same things we all do mock drafts with us bringing in 8/9 guys and we end up with 3 or 4 left when the season is over
Not with free agents. These are the rules for player acquisition: 1. If you get a player with salary that is on par with his market value, you have failed, and you have failed MISERABLY. 2. Thus, this has a repercussions all over the team rosters. First and foremost, good guys just do not leave their respective teams unless extraordinary circumstances arise. 3. Corollary to #2 is that, if your team has to rely on that big free agent acquisition year in and year out, you KNOW your team is destined for mediocrity and below. Only handful of free agent acquisition ever worked in the said team's favor. (Like Rodney Harrison, James Farrior etc) And they did have a need for the said free agent, but were not lacking depth all over the roster. Building through free agency is a guaranteed recipe for a total collapse. This is NOT a hindsight. Just a common sense. You know, the kind Jets front office ignores at every possible chance. Look what happened to them after two glorious runs at AFCC. They are in shambles now. Next thing up? Spike year. (I am expecting next year.)
damn rochester was just asking a question. To all who answered my question Thank you. My point being is that the J-E-T-S- have done a very poor job of drafting what this team needs, IMO. and yes I'M SICK OF THIS SHIT. keller and conner were very good picks, the rest are below average. for me the jury is still out on coples.
