    Hey all -

How is the pick for Jonathan Vilma escalating? Are we close to a 2nd rod pick for him yet?

    Thanks,

    Mike

We won't get a 2nd round pick unless he signs with NO for next season.

yeah, it was talked about in the robertson thread but right now it looks like we will have the saints 3rd rounder in exchange for our 4th. if vilma resigns, the 3rd becomes a 2nd...

After the Shockey trade, the Saints GM said that there was never the posibility of a 2nd rounder involved. And because I haven?t heard anything else from either the Jets or the Saints, I tend to belive him.

If he signs an extension, we get their 3rd and they get our 4th, that?s it.

    Thanks guys.

So when we win the Super Bowl, we give GB our 1st rd pick and then have 2 3rd rd picks.

    Thanks!

If we reach the SB, our Picks will most likely be:
    2nd - own
    3rd - own
    3rd - saints
    4th - skins
    5th - own
    6th - own
    7th - own
+ maybe some lateround pick from the Broncos for DRob.

I heard that if New Orleans signs him before he becomes a free agent we will get a 2nd Round pick. I am sure that New Orleans will not let that happen, they will have some kind of deal for him before then but he will only sign on the dotted line after the free agency date.
The Giants would get the Saints first round pick if we get their 2nd so you know damn well that aint gonna happen.

Where has our 4th gone? And didn't we give up our 5th in the Jenkins trade?

i read an article this week that alluded to the trade. it stated something like, if they re-sign vilma, the giants' pick from shockey escalates to a 1st round, and the jets get the 2nd.

Who really cares what round the picks are in, they'll be the 32nd picks anyway!

I think it's highly likely that the Saints will re-sign Vilma, despite the draft pick moving up. He's playing very well for them.

By not having a first round bust to pick we can use our money on a solid FA.

Or to re-sign Leon and Favre.

I'm glad we won't have a high first rounder. We always fuck it up anyways and it's too expensive.

I also read some articles about that, but I think they all have that information from an article on Rock?s blog, and I rather trust a GM (who did say that in a radio interview) than a beatwriter.

If we get a pick from the Saints, they?ll get our 4th in return. And we gave up the Jenkins picks (3rd and 5th) in the 2008 draft.

If he hits FA, he might as well sign somewhere else, and the price will go up, the way Vilma is playing right now, I don?t think they gamble.

Gotcha on losing the 4th. Was the Jenkins trade really pre-draft? Wow, it all seems so long ago.

I think Vilma comin back is a possiblity i mean it would elliminate the need or drafting a lb who can cover, he could play in the 3-4 if he really wanted to
