I think either Stafford or Sanchez will be there when the Jets pick at 17...in that case it's a no brainer who the Jets should draft.

yep, if one of them falls to 17 it makes it easy... its the BPA at that point and it fills a need.

I think if the Jets sign a DE and CB for depth in free agency, they can use their first two picks on offense. Personally, I'd love to see us back into the first round like we did last year with Keller to draft either Nicks or Britt but if we get one of these QB's it'd already be a great draft/offseason

Seriously I really doubt both of them will be there at 17 considering that the 49ers need a qb and a team like the Texans may want a new QB since Matt Schaub is always hurt

the texans wouldn't get a 1st round QB after getting Schaub the year before... that is not a great message being sent to the team... they'll draft someone in the later rounds.

If they were that worried about Schuab I doubt they would have moved his backup. They may take a flyer on a later round prospect, but I highly doubt they go QB in the first two rounds.

the Texans signed Dan Orlovsky today to back up Schaub......chances are, they won't be gunning for a QB in the first or even the 2nd round.

I wouldn't have a problem with trading up to 9 to take Stafford.

I'd rather sit at 17 and take Freeman though.

I don't like any of this year's QBs and next year there will be a bumper crop of great QBs. Most of the teams drafting in the first 10 this year can expect to be in the top 10 next year as well. Detroit in particular will likely have the number one pick next years as well. As I have said before, if Detroit wins 3 games give Schwartz coach of the year. Will next year have a LB as good as Aaron Curry? That's a maybe. Will it have a QB better than Stafford or Sanchez? Thats a a definite yes. I doubt a QB will be taken in the first 10 this year and I doubt that Stafford, Sanchez or Freeman ever become quality players in the NLF. Sanchez has similar combine numbers and playing stats as J.D. Booty and he went in the 5th round. I know Booty's senior numbers weren't that great, but he had injuries and his junior numbers were as good as Sanchez's. Stafford is not a great athlete and doesn't have great numbers, too many INTs, too low a completion percentage. Freeman is a great athlete, but is an INT machine and his stats look even worse if you only look at games against quality competition. That doesn't mean Freeman can't improve, he obviously did get better year to year in college, but is he worth a 1st round pick? I don't think so. And what do these players give you that current Jet players don't? Compiled a winning record over several seasons in the challenging SEC? Erik Ainge did that. Was a PAC-10 QB with good numbers and moderate athleticism? Hello Kellen Clemens. Is a tall QB with a cannon arm who is considered a development project? Hello Brett Ratliff.
