The draft is 1 day away! For me it’s one of my favourite days of the year. So much time watching prospects and evaluating them plus having debates with friends and fellow Jet fans on prospects. It’s been fun Jet nation! I got a few buddies coming over along with the fam. One of my routines is I always watch the Draft day film and prepare chicken for the bbq. Get a few different types of BBQ sauces for the chicken and make a few different sides like potato salad, slaw and garlic bread. This year I’ll partake in a few PBRs while I bbq and then Glenlivit 15 year old scotch during the draft! What’s your draft day plans?
Bourbon....copious amounts of bourbon while wearing my Namath jersey in hopes it gives this franchise a little good juju. Hasn't worked so far though.
Sleep and then get up for work, if I have a restless night I may check on the phone to see who we have drafted, last year I hooked up to @PennyandtheJets live youtube channel as I walked to work at 3am lol
Yes turn on TV ..tune in and brace myself. One thing I won't do when the dust settles is to give the Draft a "grade". It's useless to speculate ..you grade it a year later when you pile up the Wins , Losses and how your selections made an impact or not!
Love draft day, it's probably my favorite football day as a Jets fan given how bad the actual games usually go. Last year was a rare one where I actually really liked a lot of the picks. Usually draft day means my heart rate rising as Roger walks to the podium, just praying the Jets don't pick the one guy I hope they don't, only to have them inevitably pick that guy. Then I spend the next 20 mins shaking my head in disbelief.
Act like it's any other Thursday by going to work and coming back with a few hours until the Jags go on the clock. Maybe go for a walk. Then, have a glass of wine and dinner as the picks begin to come in.
Sounds like going to your house would be a hell of a great option for a pre draft routine. Enjoy and go Jets. Lol
I don’t have a routine as I do something different every year. Last 3 years Draft is on Ramadan and I can’t drink. But when it isn’t Ramadan I would take Friday off and leave work early on Thursday and throw myself a Draft Day party if I wasn’t heading to Metlife to watch draft. Draft Day is more fun for me than Superbowl to be honest.
I love this! For me it's been the same for quite a number of years. I usually like to watch it all by myself rather than go out--I did that one year with some buddies and it just wasn't as enjoyable to soak in. So what I do know is usually go out and get take out from a local burger joint and get some unhealthy food for home. My good buddy is a Raiders fan so I usually call him when it gets close to his pick.
No routine, but there are some funny ones on here. I just enjoy the experience and see where the night takes us.
Do the Ric Flair strut all day...and then after the pick is announced, do a Ric Flair header to the floor.
Too bad it is no alcohol tonight for me. And Metlife is a No Go. Jets and Giants are throwing a joint party at Metlife today. Can't deal with jackass Giants fans right now. Will buy take out. Buffalo Wild Wings - Parmesan Garlic ,Lemon Pepper Sauce and Medium Buffalo flavors. Appetizers from Applebee's - They have good apps reall. I will pick whatever my kids want. And "Bai" flavored water to wash it all down. I
Draft starts at 1.00am in the UK so I have just had a few hours sleep before we start. My daughter got me a bottle of 15 year old malt whisky for Christmas and I have managed to save it for tonight, so whatever the pick at least I will have a decent drink.
