In this draft battle, I pit Wydermyer, Ruckert, and McBride against each other to compare and contrast their strengths and weaknesses. In the end, I do pick a "winner", but I would be excited by all 3 if we picked them.

Who are some of your favorite TEs in this class and what traits make the stand out for you?

McBride has the production. He's a good blocker, can catch anything going his way, and has a "mean streak" to him. His route running could use improvement, but that's a minor knock.

I'm intrigued by Ruckert. Not much college production, but he played alongside WR's who are projected to be early round picks. He can block, run routes, and catch the ball. The skills are there.

I need to watch Wydermyer, but it seems like his stock has taken a slight hit from where it was months ago.

For those interested in an athletic move tight end with with receiver skills. Standout at the Senior bowl.

Some fun Highlights to watch. He's a guy I'd like to grab.

I'd anyone knows how to imbed the videos let me know.

Based on your review here, I'd rank them:

    1. McBride
    2. Ruckert
    3. Wydemyer

What are your thoughts on Charlie Kolar as well? I didn't get to see much of him this season, but I've heard rumblings. Hoping they sign aTE and draft one of these guys, the TE position is totally void of talent on this team as it stands.

I am confident that Ruckert will be the best TE In this draft class.

I appreciate the video and your breakdown though. It was well done. Great job.

I really like Charlie Kolar. I took him in a mock draft:

Thanks man! As of right now, he is my preferred TE option in the draft because of his blocking ability and I think we can land him at pick 69. Would be an awesome draft pick.

I like all 3 but I think Ruckert in the 3rd would be the best bang for our buck

McBride doesn't have the speed to get deep, and I think he's going to have trouble getting separation in the NFL.

I like Ruckert, Lively, Ferguson, Otton

Lively, Wydermyer, Kolar, and Turner are basically WRs. IMO you're not going to get much blocking from them. If you want a traditional in-line TE, then Ruckert, Ferguson, Otton are the way to go imo.
