1a. DE Mario Williams, NC State- In a failure to trade down we select the guy with the most value at 4. Mario fits as a 3-4 defensive end and will learn under Von Oelhoffen.

1b. DE/LB Manny Lawson, NC State- The pass rush linebacker (or "tweener")in the 3-4. Fallback option here is Bobby Carpenter

    2. OG Max Jean-Gilles, Georgia- Big, mauling OG that will push Kendall and Moore for their starting jobs and will likely be starting at the LG position in 2007. Only knock is that he has a weight problem which a guy like Mangini will be able to take care of. Fallback option is Davin Joseph

3a. OT Ryan O’Callaghan, Cal- This may be hoping he falls a little bit but he's the big run mauling RT we need. Fallback option is Andrew Whitworth

3b. DT Jesse Mahelona, Tennessee- A guy with 3-4 DT potential. We may need to package a few late round picks to trade up and secure him which is no problem.

4a. QB Kellen Clemens, Oregon- At worst a backup QB down the road and has the potential to possibly start one day. This is assuming Charlie Whitehurst and Omar Jacobs are both off the board.

4b. WR Jonathan Orr, Wisconsin- Hit or miss prospect that could turn into an amazing WR if we hit. I'm willing the take the risk on him instead of one of the guys that will just be #3's around this time. Fallback is Mike Hass

    5. C Patrick Ross, Boston College- Like Whitehurst he is at worst a backup and has the potential to start one day. With the signing of Teague C isn't a must fill position but we draft him and with grooming he may be able to start 2 or 3 years down the road

7a. OT Brad Butler, Virginia- A pick for depth.

7b. LB Brandon Hoyte, Notre Dame- A small guy with a lot of heart and leadership. Was ND's defensive captain last year and would be a solid special teams player along with giving us depth at LB.

Not too bad... I have to say though, I don't like Ryan O'Callaghan at all. He may end up falling a lot further than people think.

RT has to be adressed before G though.

    Overall it's a good mock...

Love the first 2 picks of course, thats how I see our actual draft going, unless we address oline at 29 instead and pick up a midround passrusher.

As for Mahelona Im not so sure hes a 3-4 DT. Hes more a pass rushing penetrator...34 NTs should be gap holding run stuffers. I think Orien Harris would be a better fit

Big fan of Ross here, I think hell be a solid player in a few years

I like the Clemmons pick but I am one of those people that look at how past players from certain schools have done Clemmons is not in good company

Harrington, Fife (although a nice Arena player) Feeley and I think Boller came from Tedford's system as well.....

I just dont see us taking DE OLB with the first two, I think, like most that OL will be one of them. I think it would be great to see the both of them come from NC to NY but I think unlikely

I think most teams have Wimbley higher on their list and he'll go before Manny. The Browns and Patriots are the 2 teams in for a DE/LB and I don't think they both go for one (the Browns need to fill other spots in the front 7, Pats have holes at WR and RB). Unless a team brings Lawson in thinking he can be a 4-3 DE (which is a possibility) I think he'll be there at 29.

Yea I understand that Manny is high on their list and I actually had him going to Cleveland in my mock a few weeks ago... but it appears that Wimbley has passed him in the rankings so if Cleveland fails to get Bunkley they might snatch Wimbley instead. Also if Deangelo Williams or Santonio Holmes are there at 21 the Cute Fluffy Pink Pixies will be all over either of them.

I would bet Bunkley drops to Cleveland, sure would be nice to have Lawson fall to us, that is if we do not go Williams with our first pick.

If Lawson makes it to 18, I would be shocked if he gets by the Tuna.

Why would they take another 3-4 hybrid DE/OLB when they took Ware last year and also spent their other two picks in the first two rounds on the front 7.

Bingo. Dallas has 0 need for another tweener and they would be retarded to take Lawson. Dallas could use another man in the middle to continue his platooning (now Ferguson is alone inside with the loss of Glover), a WR, a S, or a LB much more.

Because they need someone on the opposite side of Ware and if Lawsaon is the BPA when the Cowboys pick thats who they will pick. I'm sure Parcells would hate to have two pass rushing athletic freaks on his D.
