I would guess that if it fell that way the Jets might take Jarvis Jones. Patterson is interesting but they already have one raw WR they are trying to develop.
I don't have enough posts to make my own mock, so I figured I'd put mine here. Let me know what you guys think! Trade Revis for SF 1st, KC 2nd Trade NYJ 1 (9) for Steelers 1 (17) and 2 (49) to select Patterson, WR, LSU to replace Wallace Trade David Harris and a 6th to Buffalo for a 3rd round pick. I don't feel like writing out each individual let-go/re-sign, so if you see him on the roster, assumed re-sign, if you don't, assume we let him go. 1 (PIT): Ezekiel Ansah* 1 (SF): Alec Ogletree, ILB 2 (KC): Matt Elam, S 2 (NYJ): Giovanni Bernard, RB 2 (PIT): Tavon Austin, WR 3 (BUF): Brennan Williams, OL 3 (NYJ): Khaseem Greene, OLB 4 (NYJ): Tyrann Mathieu, CB 5 (NYJ): Lonnie Pryor, FB 7 (NYJ): Jake Stoneburner, TE *If by draft-time after all of the combine hype dies down, it appears evident that Ansah will go in the top 10, I would draft Moore, and if he's gone, I'd trade the pick for 1st rounder from a bad team next year. I see us switching to more of a 46 (although there will obviously always be some 3-4 as we run a hybrid) QB: Sanchez, Quinn, McElroy RB: Bernard, Powell, McKnight FB: Pryor TE: Keller, Cumberland, Stoneburner WR: Holmes, Austin, Kerley, Hill LT: Ferguson LG: Ducasse C: Mangold RG: Howard RT: Williams DE: Ansah/Moore/Plug stop-gap (if both are taken) DT: Coples NT: Ellis DT: Wilkerson MLB: Ogletree OLB1: Davis OLB2: Greene CB1: Cromartie CB2: Wilson Nickel: Lankster Dime: Mathieu** FS: Elam SS: Landry KR/PR: Mathieu **I think Mathieu has a shot to strive as the nickel back. His weaker tacking ability and size concerns me, especially when teams are gonna be try to beating us short in the passing game. At the same time, however, I think Mathieu's ball-hawking ability can be best served trying to anticipate those short passing routes. If there's one person I trust with how to handle CBs, it's Rex. Anyway, I'm really happy with the way this turned out. We add some much needed speed and youth (and most of all talent) to our front-7. We (obviously) lose some depth at corner losing arguably the best CB of all time, but add a dynamic playmaker in Mathieu, and add a free-safety with immediate pro-bowl potential to go along with Landry. On offense, we bolster two OL positions by moving Howard to RG and drafting Williams, who has fallen due to injury. We get that WCO RB we so desperately need in Bernard, while adding another dynamic playmaker to the WR position in Austin. TE remains for the most part unchanged (albeit resigning Keller may prove to be difficult). This leaves us next year with only one real hole to fill- the QB position.
I would LOVE Patterson. We need playmakers on O. This guy has special, game-breaking ability. He's 6-foot-3 and has moves like a scat back.
it makes no sense ... why in his 1st mock there are no wr's off the board and he has us pick olb/de mingo ... in his 2nd mock mingo is still on the board, dion jordan is the only olb/de gone and now he has us going wr? what's changed ??? ... a bunch of the top olb/de prospects put up impressing numbers at the combine ... that is where we should go ljr
Untill teams find out more about his heart condition he is not getting taken in the top ten. Medical issues are really making mocking the draft rough this year.
1. Trading Revis for 1/2 would be ideal 2. Trading down doesn't seem likely - who would try trading up, and why?
The niners may not trade for Revis but they may bundle some of their 12 tradeable picks to move up for a player they want.
