I agree that it would be tough to pass on DeCastro in that scenario, but I'd be on board with Ingram over him. Ingram looks like an absolute monster and it's a hell of alot easier to find an OG than it is a pass rush monster. I also think SD would take Floyd over Wright. But that's just me nitpicking.

Rueben Randle in at #26? I think that's a bit of a stretch.

Its not a terrible mock but I just dont see how the Cardinals would skip over DeCastro or Mike Adams (areas of bigger need for the Cards) for Upshaw. They do have somewhat of a need at OLB but Acho has been very good for them. He is an up and comer with 7 total sacks last year, so with that you would think they would fill a much larger area of need.

    Who knows.

I like the idea of drafting Ingram.

I hope if Ingram or Upshaw are there at 16 that the Jets take one of them. I also hope the thought of taking an offensive lineman in the 1st round is not a consideration in any way if either of these two are still on the board

Banks is obviously a moron. While I love the Ingram, he doesn't even mention the Jets' glaring need at OLB and for improving the pass rush. He talks like Decastro is a bigger need and that simply isn't true. He says that Barron would fill a Jets' need, but doesn't mention that Ingram would. Then to make things even worse, he said that Ingram might wind up playing OLB in the NFL if the Jets draft him!?!?!?!? How do these dumbasses get these jobs?

Pretty much my thoughts. It's the draft though so anything can happen. The suspense is killing me...

    And this.

Given that logic I think DeCastro is the choice. If it is easy to find good guards and the consensus is that he is going to be a fixture on a line for a decade I think that the margin for error with DeCastro is less. There are DEs hybrid OLBs each year that are 'monsters' as per the experts and if you go back the track record is spotty. VG being a prime example. Have a look at the last ten drafts where guards have gone in the first round. None of them have been misses. If DeCastro is there, I think he is the move.

Yeah, I really hope the Jets have their long range vision goggles on if they face that choice. Passing on a potentially great guard when one of your guys is slowing down some and the other one is an average player at best who just had triple surgery on his shoulder and arm would be rolling the dice big time.

For all the arguments about the comparative value of offensive linemen vs skill players the facts are that when you get a few good offensive linemen together they become a force multiplier on the field and make everybody better.
