http://www.nfl.com/videos?videoId=09000d5d8064628b I Really like this kid , He plays corner the way its suppose to be played the only thing i thought he struggled with is Tackling but i dont think that anymore , Great Player maybe we draft him in... Round Two ?
We don't really need a corner, and if we don't spend our second round pick on a linemen on either side I will be pissed.
You can never have enough quality corners. If this kid is available in round 2, which I seriously doubt he would be, there's no reason not to take him.
Why would you doubt that he would be there at the top of the second round? That's exactly where he is projected to go. And there will almost certainly be an offensive or defensive linemen of equal value at that spot, and those are way bigger needs.
Ive wanted this guy for about 4 months now , im glad he's showin everybody he can play but im kinda mad since he is raising his stock
We do not have the luxury of using a 2nd round pick on anything other than a DT/DE or even an OL. Hell, we may even be using the 2nd round pick on a WR. Our D ranked very well vs the pass & that was completely without anything even resembling a pass rush. Maybe a Dwight Lowery or Charles Godfrey at the CB position in the 3rd round.
If OL is address if FA (long shot) i feel why not waste a luxury pick on this kid. I feel Revis still needs a partner in crime in the backfield, and a good one at that. DL is still a priority over the backfield, so if it comes down to a good DE/NT- take him over Cromartie.
I really like this kid also(before the senior bowl) he would be a cheaper alternative to a FA signing he is NFL ready. Just think of all the pass happy teams now with there 3&4 wideout sets we need 2 above average corners. I wouldn't mind using our 2nd on him. Some on this board claim the DB's opposite Revis weren't bad I say think of all the 3rd and 8-15's this season when the opposing team had no problem converting the 1st on us. Besides teams only passed on us when they needed to they just shoved the rock right down our throats but we do need another corner.
Nowadays, players from Tennessee State University don't go in the first round. He'll be there for our second round pick... DRC will probably go mid to late second.
Yeah, I'd like to see more of him. He has great ball recognition, technique and tackling ability. He doesnt appear to have great foot speed and his foot work seems alittle choppy(based on this video at least) and that may stop him from being a first rounder. But def. a 2nd round w/ alot of upside.
i doubt it, there are at least 4 teams that needa cb in th 1st and his senior bowl ply has moved him up. I think he might go with one of the cowboys picks, either to the boys or a trade down team like NE
There are 3 corners that should be ranked ahead of him. Unless he runs an amazing 40 and has a freakish vertical at the combine, he'll be taken in the 2nd round. Mike Jenkins, Leodis McKelvin, and Aqib Talib. A lot of teams need SECONDARY help, not just corner help. Safeties Kenny Phillips and Reggie Smith should go in the first round because of this. I would love to see a player from a I-AA school go in round 1, but I don't think it will happen.
I'd like to take Cromartie, but only if it's a high value pick. I'm not going to take him super early. Him being the best corner at the Senior Bowl really doesn't impress me. Remember, Ricardo Colclough was the best corner at the Senior Bowl a few years ago. He's on his second team and was probably taken way too high. You have to be careful with Senior Bowl hype. Take an average of where this guy stood before and where he stands after and that's his ultimate value. -X-
Does anyone think DRC's stock has rised much much much higher because of Antonio's year he had? The CB pool is so deep at the top, no one really knows who is the solid number 1 CB, but if scouts see the year Antonio had, they would see DRC and think he has the same potential as his brother? Could push him up as the number 1 taken. How cool would it be if SD was weak at CB, and took Cromartie with their first rounder. CBs are brothers.
I wouldn't think of drafting a cornerback until the third round. I think we sign two offensive lineman in free agency (locklear and bell) and then use our first round pick on a front 7 player (Ellis or Long). The 2nd round pick again should probably be a front 7 player on defense as well. If that's not available then someone like Early Doucet to help out the passing game. Cornerback is a position where you can draft someone late and coach them up. I just think Revis was too good to pass up. I don't think that a ceiling exists for Revis. With a real pass rush in front of him he should just be nasty.
