Wake is an amazing athlete. Living in B.C. I've had the great oppertunity to watch him play and meet him a few times over the last couple of years. Hes argueably the best defensive player in the CFL and a tremendous player and amazing person. I'm quite sad though to see someone as good as him have to go to the Dolphins, my prayers are with you Cam.

CFL is garbage. I can't stand it... There is a major drop-off in talent up here. This guy will be back playing for the BC Lions before training camp ends.

USC's backups would probably beat any team in the CFL

Yeah, and instead of trusting Parcells / Ireland, we're going to believe you. PLEASE. lol....

    Sounds about right.

Rule of thumb, do not get excited over every little player your team picks up during the offseason. He is probably just training camp fodder, little else.

I've seen Wake play in the CFL....dropoff in talent or not....the guy is an animal.

And the fact that Parcells likes him enough to sign him...speaks volumes in terms of Wake's potential.

I didn't say you had to wiseass. It happens every year. Last dominant CFL sack-master was OLB/DE Tim Cheatwood, signed with Houston... back in CFL before the year closed. Just sayin'.

Wake is big and he demolishes double teams in the CFL, I think he will stick, may not be a star but he has the ability to stick. By far the most dominant player in the last few years.

The guy is the perfect size for a 3-4 OLB 6-3 260, he's powerful and agile. I think it's amusing reading Jets fans that automatically assume he will be nothing but camp fodder. I think we can sit here and look at your number 1 pick from the 08 draft and call him the same at this point. The fact is no one knows what will be, but to see his career in the CFL and think he's a below avg talent simply because it's the CFL is ignorant. There have been plaenty of talented football players who were successful in both leagues. Of course when Jet fans claim a player will suck it has more to do with who signed them than where they're coming from.

Yeah, except we would have to pay that bum 18.5 million just to dump him at this point.

No. It has more to do with the fact CFL players are garbage. Don't care if I'm wrong either, you can bump this up and I'll eat the crow. But I'm 99% sure he will do jackshit.

Pretty much explains why you're giving your "expert opinion" on a message board and not to a Pro football team, I think Bill and comp are a little more qualified than you at figuring out who's for real and who isn't. I think you're also losing sight of the fact that what he will be asked to do for the Dolphins is what he does best. Rush the passer. If you line him up on the other side of Porter and add a another pass rushing specialist at ILB, which Miami will do, it will be tough for anyone to block the rush. Miami is also a landing spot for Chris Canty, I think that would make Miami a serious threat to any QB. I think it's obvious Miami wants to put pressure on the QB without using the blitz.

I think it's obvious everyone in the NFL would like to put pressure on the QB without using the blitz.. and I think you're losing sight of the fact that guys like him are dime-a-dozen. But whatever buddy, don't get your panties in a bunch cause you didn't like what I said.

I never said I have an expert opinion, I'm basing this on the history of CFL superstars trying and failing in the NFL. If you don't like the history, too bad.

What one man can do, another can do. I think you're losing sight of that fact....

Wake has earned this opportunity to play in the NFL, and where others have failed before him, he has the chance to succeed. He's the one who has to go out and play, and the "history of the CFL" has nothing to do with him as a player in my opinion. If we all based our future on what history dictates, the chances of the Jets winning the SB every 40+ some odd years is low. Hell, you haven't won a SB since 68, so it could be every 100 years for all we know. But hey, that's history for ya....

To be fair, yall won it 5 years after us, which isn't exactly anything to write home about.

And to all the CFL bashers. Ignorance. It's a completely different game. I was in the same boat, thought the CFL was bullshit, all the players were garbage, etc... Then I got to understand the subtle differences in gameplay, and it really is a fun sport to watch. The players are fucking talented, no matter what you think. Anthony Calvillo is fucking insane, would love to see him get a shot with the Jets.

And where did I ever state Jets were going to win a SB any time soon? Have fun with Cameron Wake, CFL All-pro.
