Yeah, I'm a biased Dolphins fan, but don't be surprised if the Dolphins with Mike Nolan, Karlos Dansby and co really make this a contender THIS season...
I hate to say it, but it was a great draft. This season is going to be VERY tough in the AFCE. Poor Buffalo.
From 1st to 3rd in the division could still be anything. Tannenbaum has done a great job in 5 off seasons completely changing the Jets and Parcells has done an amazing job in 3 off seasons. The only reason that the Pats are still probably #1 is that they have Brady. Until Sanchez and Henne get to an elite level the Pats are still the better team. Fortunately I really don't think that football is the biggest priority in Brady's life, Gisele has him so pu$$y whipped.
I just don't see Brady ever being the same player he was before the injury. Also, Welker is out for most, if not all, of the 2010 season. That offense looks so different and less potent when he's not playing (even if statistically speaking there's no real drop off from Welker to Edelman)
^ Randy Moss is going to go hard in a contract year though. Don't be suprised to see him have a big year.
I like what the dolphins did in the draft. Odrick is pretty good. Jones in the 5th was a stela considering some mock drafts had him going to us in the 2nd. The AFC East will be a war zone this year.
I could see Miami winning the division. Brandon Marshall, Karlos Dansy, Jared Odrick, Koa Misi. That is some serious talent added this offseason. Jets had problems with Miami last year and Miami looks much better on paper so far.
The Dolphins Drafted very well; even if the their rookies' impacts aren't felt immediately, they most likely will be in the near future. But if we're gonna compare.. I don't see how any team can top the Jets Draft: Kyle Wilson Vlad Ducasse Braylon Edwards Joe McKnight Santonio Holmes (Edwards again) John Conner Age-wise, Edwards and Holmes are young and proven; not to mention, there's a chance both could be re-signed after this 2010 Season. Factoring in all of this, the pressure should be on the Jets to win the Division because we have the most talent. Still, the Pats and Dolphins added players that will make them very tough to defeat.
Define "problems"? We couldn't stop you in Miami, which sucked, but we were leading with 0:02 left in the game. We seemed to have rectified that in NY but imploded on special teams. It's not like we were blown out in either game. Not to mention that we haven't exactly stood still this offseason. I think that it should be two more good battles this season.
I agree. I firmly believe that the Dolphins and the Jets are both much improved teams who are young and hungry. If it wasn't for the fact that the Patriots have a future Hall of Fame QB they'd be easily surpassed. I can see any one of 3 teams winning the division. I have noticed Jets fans here consider only the Patriots as a true rival to the Jets for the crown this year and that's a mistake. Chad Henne and the Dolphins are going to be strong contenders for the division crown I feel.
