I'm not very religious, don't go to church a lot but i am a Christian. I find a lot of posters on this board comparing Darrelle Revis to Jesus Christ a little much. Revis Island is cool and i like the whole idea, but comparing Revis to Christ is a little ridiculously. If he knew fans were comparing him to Jesus Christ i don't think he would care for it too much.
meh....its all in Jest. I find it distasteful but I'm not about to harp on it. Just don't participate, not everyone values the same things.

No its not much. Revis sounds like jesus, so the name is staying. Its funny. I remove all religous meaning from it and see it as a play on words/names than seeing it as a comparison to jesus. but he does play quite godly.
However, I also brought the name "Cutesy" to Brian Schottenheimer. I do equate that with homosexuality.

I don't like religion being interjected into anything social... politics, education, sports, whatever. What about Revis Muhammad? He could be our Muslim savior... why not? It's all bullshit. George Carlin nailed it when he said that more people have died over religion than any other cause: "My God is better than your God, therefore I have to kill you!" I think those that are in favor of such a slogan are really supportive of that... it's not that they're being anti-Christian, it's more like they're saying, "Fuck religion. I'll think my own thoughts, thank you. And, oh, by the way, who's to say that Revis is NOT Jesus Christ incarnate?" Religions are for religious people. Believe in whatever faith turns you on, but don't chastise, impugn and dengrate those who don't see it your way.
