It's so difficult to explain watching sports to people who don't get it. The sad thing is she is correct. I would love to sit on my ass all day but it's a terrible excuse when you have "things to do".

That sounds pretty terrible. I tend to prefer women who want nothing to do with it but understands Sunday is my day. Or they're completely open to the idea of going to games or watching games without questions.

My 2nd wife too, but she's a bit more laid back. What's helped (over time) is to include her in it. We don't sit home much unless Jets are playing at night. We go to a local sports bar with good food. I bought her a Jets jersey and she enjoys the few hrs away from the house. She even knows who a few of our players are.

Work at making it a tradition! Won't happen overnight but it's worked pretty good for me (us).

Oh, and stick to your guns and be a big baby if you don't get to watch your game. Eventually she'll wear down.

Nope. My wife loved football. Her dad taught her well. She loved going to games especially. And my GF was never a huge fan but she has become one. I taught her well.

I set up my projector and watch the game with the curtains closed projected on to the wall. Mrs Donkey is quite understanding, she knows the season is only 16 games, unlike the English football season of 46 games, plus cup matches...

My wife is a Skin's fan and enjoys the games with me, I had a good day when we played them. I will obviously root for them today and my Jetskies of course.

Well part of my problem is that I am a big college fan too. I went to Northwestern and watch every game. Yesterday I spent the whole day on my ass watching CFB

Funny thing is, the GF had in years past, no interest in watching baseball. And considering how crappy my Mets were, I don't think I watched more than a few full games the past several years.

But once they started clicking this year I was putting it on in the background, then we started concentrating and by September she'd come home and say "is there a game in tonite?!?"

I think we watched the last 30 games in full.

Teach her about football. I have been watching football with my girl lately and it's been really cool. It's so cute when she gets all excited when she understands something new lol. As long u can handle a lot of questions about things that seem pretty obvious to you, it's a pretty good time

It was a transition for my lady. She started off iffy about it all. Knows I love it and because of that she accepted it, but it would bother her because Sunday was basically non existent for her in regards to going out and spending the day doing something.

Now, she accepts it and plays along. Hangs out with us while we watch. Wears Jets clothes. Bought a Jets shirt on her own the other day. She's warmed up to it.

The only way she makes it difficult is that I have to watch Cowboys games too.

I've been working on mine. Sometimes she's kinda into it, more often than not she seems to tolerate it. But my efforts are rewarded in times like the simultaneous face palm when they announced Geno coming into the game haha. Or her asking "why the hell can't our D-line get past the Raiders? Have we even sacked the other teams QB once?"
I'd say get her a game day shirt and pick her up some of what ever she drinks when you stock up for game day. I also like the suggestion of making it a ritual like going to a sports bar or something. Get her involved.

    Good/bad for me.

I love that my wife is a knowledgable, bigtime football fan.
I hate that she is a lifelong Patriots fan.
