On the heels of their Belliard acquisition. They're certainly stocking up on players. Not really difference-makers, though. http://www.cbssports.com/mcc/blogs/entry/6270335/16925228
Apparently. Garland was in the Arizona dugout when he was traded, they showed him getting up, shaking hands with his former teammates and leaving. The game went 10 innings, I was waiting for him to show up in the Dodger dugout, like a pick-up game.
I knew he they were playing each other but I didn't realize he was traded during the game. Honestly it's a complete low risk move by the Dodgers. What did they give up? Pretty much nothing. However based on numbers Garland isn't a guy I want going out against the Phils or Cards.
yes. First base has been his position since 1997. I assume he'll be used primarily as a pinch hitter.
Yeah, I knew that, but he barely ever plays it now. Always DH. I mean, he is a great pinch hitting option to have in the NL, so it is a good move.
Of course he DHs now. He's not going to play any other position, so yes, he'd play first on the rare occasions that he gets put in there.
Its funny... with Thome joining Manny Torre now has two of the biggest Yankee killers playing for him now
