Well if the Mets don't get sweep here it'll be the biggest miracle of the year. There are rumors that Roy Halladay might get traded. If Omir wants his job he will get this trade deal done!!!
I don't think Santos is ready for the pressure of platooning at catcher and being General Manager. They should've kept Castro if they were going to make this move.
Halladay would completely mortgage our future...The risk is too great; his contract expires next year.
What future? You mean all the great young players that have been filling in with the injuries lately? For the record though a Halladay trade would be incredibly stupid and not help the team in the least.
Well, this game is over. And Gary and Ron should just shut up about Pelfrey supposedly pitching in bad luck - he's been an absolute joke this inning.
Went to the new park for the first time today. It was very nice. It is also too expensive for me, and the team that plays there sucks. Oh well.
2 straight SOs and 3 runs in 4 games, it doesn't get much more inept than that. At this point I'm hoping to be 10 games back before Minaya has the chance to trade away the one or two decent prospects left for a quick fix that doesn't fix anything. I would say hopefully they can trade away some vets at the deadline to start replenishing the farm system but amazingly enough I don't see anyone that can be traded for decent prospects. Even the perennial bad teams have at least one player that is worth something to a team in contention.
Same here, first time there, really enjoyed the park. I still think they need to take a wrecking ball to the rest of the area though. How many auto body shops can possibly be needed in one place? We ate ate the Dugout Grill or something across the street, $5 for a double cheeseburger, fries and coke, parked for free under the bridge. My friend is a Met fan, showed me the way.
Of course, the Mets could have had Dunn for nothing but money, but fortunately Omar knew that he strikes out too much.
don't worry, Omar has no interest in making this team better, and ownership doesn't seem to mind the team being bad, so there won't be any trades.
25 pitches (12 of them balls), two hits, and one run given up in the top of the first by Ollie. Not a good sign.
