Personally, I hate the “gase” jerseys... I would like to see them banished along with any memory of the “offensive Genius”
In my opinion, both the overall design of the uniforms and the new logo are pretty forgettable. Add that to the fact that they came during what amounted to be one of the darkest ages this franchise has seen, and I could see why some would already want a change. The issue that I have with completely getting rid of them is that I personally like the new helmet color and style as well as the all black unis (for a very limited amount of games per season). The all green uniform concept, old and new, should be fired directly into the sun.
I don't hate the colours at all. In fact I quite like them. The logo is an abomination and the overall design is hardly inspired. Every time the Jets incorporate black into the colour scheme however they seem to sucky great big hairy balls, which might be enough to bin them.
The logo and the helmets have all the excitement of Dwight's "It Is Your Birthday." banner on The Office. It needs a drastic change. The jerseys need work, but I think can be tweaked rather than ditched.
Shit Logo, we don't wear black, shit coach, shit team. Must be linked. Return to the Jets with plane trail/vapor logo. Green top, white pants and vice versa.
I’d prefer to wear the all blacks at home and the all whites on the road full time. I do prefer the white helmets of the past to the current one.
I think they are ok, I loved the old ones but they had them 20 years and was time for an update. I think forgettable is a fair word, because they were not particularly bad or good. The blacks are nice, but don’t get me wrong I would only want them as alternates, not primary. I believe and NFL team can only change primary uniforms every 5 years, so I think this is what we have for 3 more years.
Yeah...its a five year rule I love the new helmet color but hate the logo...for a team with a great name and so many cool possibilities to create an exciting logo off of the name, it’s pretty damn lame that they couldn’t come up with anything more than writing out the word Jets the old logo was better...should have kept it should have kept the old uniforms and just used this new green color instead of the old olive green crap we had. the only thing that really needed fixing was the sleeve design...back in the day when NFL jerseys actually had sleeves, the striping was cool....think Steelers, Packers, Browns, Bears, or the old Rams with the horn. The jerseys Namath wore were also awesome. But now that the jerseys don’t have sleeves it gets a bit clunky...yes those same teams keep the stripes in a kinda weird way, but the Jets sleeves with that extra stripe that only went halfway down the front just had to go. Had they tweaked the color and fixed those sleeves it would have been fine. ah well...the new logo is as uninspired as this team so I guess it kinda fits. pat least we didn’t go off the deep end like those hideous Bucs uniforms that they finally got rid of
No disrespect intended but how do the old uniforms not bring reminders of dozens of unwatchable crappy seasons?
The new uniforms are awesome. I don't call them Gase era. Unfortunately, the Jets have done a lot of losing in them so far. Hopefully that starts to change in 2021.
Is there favorable emotion or warm, fuzzy feeling you get that connects the new uniforms to a few memorable games, or even a couple of halfway decent plays?
Maybe not but at the same time why live in the past w Unis that have drastically more bad memories than good? Living in the past w this team’s history seems pretty counterproductive
Yeah, but shouldn't there be at least a couple of pleasant connections? The past fifty years have been pretty discouraging as Jets fans but there is that bank of happy times. Most connected with the classic uniforms.
