Do you honestly think we'll win on Sunday? Obviously we all want to. But the Pats are the Pats, despite the lackluster performance we saw last night. What's your honest opinion?
Yes, I do. Our defense is better than theirs is, we're at home, they have a short week, and we probably have a little more motivation. We beat them last time we played. Sure, Brady is better than Cassel, but their defense was better last year, too. Now, are we a better team than New England? Right now, I have to say no, but we're right there, and we have a few other things in our favor.
The Pats are NOT the Pats..that whole premise is wrong. They lost 5 or 6 starters off their defense and most were multiple time all-pro. Brady will never be Brady again and yet people still act afraid.
who cares what anybody "honestly thinks" about who will win? It doesn't matter. All that matters is who does win.
I'm hoping for the best, preparing for the worst. We haven't beaten the Pats in the Meadowlands since a 20-19 victory in 2000. WE NEED TO CRUSH THEM!!
The problem is, we have to respect him until we no longer need to. Afraid? Yeah, maybe. But maybe that will all change on Sunday too. GET THE WEASEL!
I think the Jets can and should win. The Patriots game won't be easy and should likely come down to the end of the 4th quarter on the Belichek factor alone, but for the first time in a long time our talent is equivalent to theirs, if not better. If this team is for real, they'll take care of the Patriots on Sunday.
I have no clue. The Jets looked great in one game against an team that is slightly above average at best. The Pats looked average at best for 3.5 quarters on both sides of the ball and then the game was on the line and Brady looked like Brady. Let's see if Rex can keep up with BB in terms of adjustments.
I picked "I wouldn't bet on it" but that doesn't properly reflect my feeling. I do feel like we're in the best position in years to win this game. If our defense can just solve Welker, there isn't anything on the Pats' offense left to scare me. Revis will blanket Moss and take him out of the game. Our front 7 can handle the running game. They'll also harrass Brady all day. It all comes down to whether they let Welker make the plays. That, and how does Sanchez react to Belichick throwing the kitchen sink at him. You have to believe he's going to do everything he can to break the kid's spirit early.
Kevin Faulk is a problem too. It's going to be Welker / Faulk / Baker / Watson all day long. This game is definitely going to tell us a lot about where the Jets actually are as a team. This game will be no holds barred.
I agree, I am worried about this game because I saw Brady shake out the cobwebs last night. He was shaky in the first half then deadly in the second. He has a ton of weapons and does well against us. I voted "I have no clue" Mainly because of the great effort we had last week. This week we should learn if it was just a fluke or if we are a quality team. I am mildly optamistic that what we saw last sunday is who we are.
DEFINITELY agree with this post. Faulk usually has really good games against us. Watson will definitely be a factor. And of course that little weasel Welker, who has played well against us since his Dolphin days. I'm afraid to get my hopes too far up, because a HUGE factor is also the mental factor of the players, and we can't possibly begin to project that. Just hope we're competitve!
No. I continue to have very modest expectations for this team this year. You cannot draw too many conclusions from Week 1. Yes, the Defense was dominant at times and yes, Sanchez looked very poised and in control. Bottom line is the Patriots are not the Texans.....just sayin'.
If the Jets keep playing defense like they did on Sunday they have a good chance of finally beating the pats at the Meadowlands. It seems like it has been an eternity since the won a home game against the pats. ats_suck:
Definitely will be interesting. Traitor? I was predicting an 0-4 start, and a 4-6 win season. So far I'm ecstatic, but that doesn't mean I suddenly believe this team is going to win big games like this. I think we have a very good chance, but I'm not getting overly excited until I see results on the field. Houston is one thing, but the Patriots are still at the head of the class.
