Why are political topics permitted to be opened here when they invariably deteriorate into misinformation, strife and nastiness? We have people here whose posting history is far less than ten percent in football related topics and are prolific in divisive political content, often based on anything but fact. Without a subforum dedicated to politics they are dropped into the BS forum which some here have now used as an excuse to disregard all pretense of basic honesty and disrespect all members who believe in the concept of dealing in facts. How any adult could unabashedly excuse themselves from that standard of society is puzzling at best. I also question why TGG has become a dumping ground for those who simply want to drop quotes regardless of their validity from social media or other sources without comment and then deny any responsibility for the content of those things they link - if someone cannot be bothered to at least comment on what they post themselves perhaps no one else should be bothered by having it here. "No politics" should mean no politics without exception unless the management sees fit to reopen the Politics subforum. If that does reopen shouldn't there be some effort on the part of all involved to keep it honest?
I think the owner of the message board and his management team can run the board as they see fit. If you don’t like a topic, don’t post in that thread. I don’t like talking about the Rangers so I rarely venture into the NHL forum to discuss the Rangers. It’s not difficult.
So, you're saying I shouldn't even bring up this topic? Should I also take that to mean you're perfectly fine with the level of discord that happens here and that none of us has a right to voice their opinions?
What I’m saying is that if you don’t like a topic, then you aren’t obligated to comment on it. And you should have some bigger balls and just tag acad and soxxx because this is directly aimed at them. Soft move bro.
I tagged no one because I did not want this to be seen as a personal issue, for them, or for me; it is a general issue that the Mods have asked about in the past.. It seems that you do not understand the concept of not making things here personal. Having said that, if I'm involved in a discussion that then deteriorates into lies and irrelevancies, I'm not going to walk away from the discussion but will call out the nonsense. I expect that's the same road most here would take, you included.
Of course I call people out on their bullshit. Hence why I’m calling you out on yours in saying tHiS iSn’T pErSoNaL.
You're entitled to your opinion and I'm entitled to aver that you don't know what you're talking about. I have a problem with people posting bullshit here and will call those out who do so. You've got a problem with me for doing that because you're one of the people I have called out. Weren't you the guy making ridiculous claims about a light bulb factory upstate? We're all supposed to be adults here and I cannot fathom why anyone thinks that they stand to gain in a discussion by posting things that are blatantly false with the hope that no one will notice.
The title of the thread should be Girls, Girls! It's hard to keep "politics" out of world news, national news, and current events. What the problem is is the stupid petty in-fighting. It's like mosquitoes on a Summer night ruining the BBQ party in your backyard. That's what's polluting the threads IMO. If you want to call somebody out, fine, call them out; but after a fashion you need to realize that you're becoming part of the problem and not part of the solution. OK, I'm out. Keep calm and carry on. Oh, and citronella candles are already in the stores.
Ralebird is right. The Politics Forum should be opened post haste! C'mon @Petrozza @Brook! & influential mods... make it happen! I hereby volunteer to moderate the forum. Is the pay hourly or straight salary?
I had a pet monkey once. Blue Rhesus... Always running around and getting into trouble... beat up my cat. The little fucker drove me nuts. Gave him away to a speed freak who lived in a garage on Long Island. He had him trained like a little soldier within a month.
