Last year we ran the ball damn well and we played solid D, so I had no problem "sneaking into the playoffs" as some liked to call it. But this year at this point... wtf do we do well?!
at this point we are 9-4 so yes he belong in the playoff. However if we end up losing our 3 last games it would be an epic fall worthy of the New York Mets!
We have more wins, so yes we deserve it and secondly I'm kind of glad we aren't going in as the "Holy shit look at them team", last year we went in considered one of the weaker teams and it worked out pretty well, don't mind doing that again this year
Would you say any of the NFC West teams deserve it because they've won enough games? I mean its safe to say that the NFC West winner is going to have less wins than any of the AFC Wild cards... so I'm not really asking a Wins and Losses questions, just thinking as to what do we really bring to the table to survive the playoffs.
yes they won their division so they deserve to get into the playoffs and only one team "survives" in the playoffs, just because a team doesn't win the super bowl doesn't mean they don't deserve the playoffs
are we that bad now that you're comparing us to the NFC west? we lost 2 games in a row, it happens, although offensivley we played horribly in both, but we knew this team was good for some stinkers along the way, its gonna be different with the jets every week and if we can make the playoffs and somehow put a 4 game win streak together, which we have done this year, we can go far.
You qualify, you belong. End of story imo... PS 1 corollary... you have to have a winning record... I hate those 8-8 teams winning weak divisions...
Dude, we are tied for the third best record in our conference. Jesus Christ, people act like we've lost more games than we won this season.
This is the same crap that was said last year.. we only won't deserve it if we don't win more games than the other teams. Who deserves it more.. Miami? San Diego? Oakland? Houston? Come on. The Jets are 9-4, headed for a 10-6 or 11-5 season.. that is very playoff worthy. Now will they advance anywhere once they get in if they play the way they're playing? Absolutely not.
I guess I'm basing it mostly on our offense's inability to do any damage when playing against good defenses. Obviously the next two games will tell the tale.. if we can somehow produce against the Steelers and the Bears, then I'd say we most certainly belong.... But based on what we've done so far there is no indication that we will do anything against those two defenses... I HOPE I"m wrong obviously. Really the one thing that gives me hope is that these two games are on the road... sadly that seems to be a positive.
Right now I'd say that BAL and SD are better teams... perhaps even the Colts... ehh.. that's a toughy, but Bal and SD for sure.
If we lose 4 out of the 5 and make it in, I'd take it, but I'd feel like the Bengals of last year. Hopefully we won't be 1-and-done, but, we certainly looked better down the stretch than what we've done so far this year.
We certainly don't have the positive momentum that we had going into the playoffs last year. I mean, we got to play the team that we just blew out the Monday before. This could change though because pretty much everyone went crazy after the Falcons game in week 15 and then what happened?
