In a single word..."yes" In fact I agree with many of the people on here that we draft one until we freakin' get it right.

After all these decades of not having a true Franchise Qb, we really do have to keep drafting one. Even a stopped clock is right twice a day and that gives me hope that one of these decades before I die, we'll have a competent, high quality QB on the roster along with the supporting cast he'll need to succeed.

I just don't know what Idzik saw in Geno Smith, we could of drafted some weapons in rounds 2-4 and found a QB in this years coming draft. We could of answered the question on Sanchez once and for all also.

A lot of questions could of been answered.

    Yes, yes we do.

What would be kind of ideal is that Mark comes back on a way reduced contract (I'm still convinced he would work well with the WCO and Marty) and he does well, hopefully with some new weapons. The drafted QB (maybe McCarron, or Murray) could sit for a few years and him and Geno and Mark can have a "qb battle" in camp.

    Wishful thinking, I know.

What I think will happen, knowing the Jets:

We trade up to take Bridgewater or Johnny football (both of whom I don't buy into) and Manziel gets busted with coke or some shit, wastes that pick, leaves football, can't handle nyc, etc. Bridgewater gets hurt, if we go that route, and screws us. We get rid of Mark, and are stuck with Geno being a goon and a deer in headlights, rendering next year's draft useless.

It's good to see we can all agree on this one, at least it looks that way. Yes, of course we draft a QB.

Yeah, but not with a first or second round pick unless he's the BPA, no need picks

We absolutely do. It looks like this could be a good QB class too.

They need skill players -- improve the total of the offense -- find a 1 year gap filler - and address QB in 2015. With a better pool of players on the offense it makes for an easier transition to a rookie QB.

This could be a pretty good draft class for QB's though, thats the thing. Who knows if the 2015 draft class will be good or if it will be like the Gabbert, Locker draft class.

They can draft another QB but they are losing Holmes and Winslow -- so a new QB gets to throe to Kerley, Hill, and Salas?

Please no johnny manziel!!! he will be a bust and i hope the jets dont even entertain the possibility of getting him!, but even if we finish the season 5-11 i dont think we should draft a qb...i dont care who plays qb for this team, he would have an offensive line that is weak and wide receivers that cannot win any 1 on 1 battles against any corners to gain separation!...in the 1st three rounds we should take at least 2 wide outs and another offensive linemen or safety but i think we need to give geno another year with some actual possible weapons instead of the group we have...the only receiver we have thats worth keeping is kerley....salas should be retained too....but holmes, hill, nelson can all go

Idzik set forth a motto that each roster spot will be driven by competition. They aren't giving the ball to Sims, so he is not competitive. Sanchez and Garrard will be gone so they won't be around to compete.

Where is the competition coming from? Draft? Yes.

I don't see a lot of love for McCarron anywhere, but there's a lot to be said for a QB that has two career losses over three seasons as a starter. Not to mention two (quite possibly three) National titles. I know he doesn't exactly light it up, but he can read a defense and he keeps his offense on the field.

Obviously Alabama is a perennial powerhouse, but if you think about it, the Jets are built a lot like Bama, and can compete with any team in the league when they aren't turning the ball over.

Problem with taking a QB from a team that is consistently #1 in the land is they are beyond loaded. Physically their players are just better than most other teams so you get a away with a lot. Find the guy that can put up big numbers on a decent team against big time competition. An unranked team that plays top 25 teams and battles. Those QBs need to be looked at. QBs that make their team better than they would be without them. You take a QB from a top team that have another 5 star recruit ready to roll. That is how they stay #1 year after year after year.

The Jets should be drafting a QB every single year for the foreseeable future without fail. My choice this draft is Tajh Boyd.

That said, the talent on the Jets O really blows. The Jets need a new RB1, WR1, WR2, TE1, and slash running back. Not to mention RG and overall depth on the oline. This offense is not configured to allow a QB to succeed. Any QB who is put in will be as mediocre as the group surrounding him.
