So we already know that if Howard holds up it will be huge for this OL. But more importantly I think Sparano wants a bigger line. Under Shitty's guidance we we looking for smaller more mobile guys. Under Sparano I think we are going to go big with maulers which is what I personally prefer.

I think the next move may be vlad replacing moore a G. Vlad and Austin are both 330+ dudes. With that kind of size I can see some potenital for us racking up some serious yardage on the right side. Say what you want about Vlads pass protection, but that guy can run block.

Not many who watch the Jets play can downplay Vlad's ability to run block. You may be on to something with this.

Vlad is a good run blocker, and the Jets have already said they want to ground n' pound. You could be right.

Mangold is one of the best pulling linemen in the league, and Slauson is decent at it, although he has always been a WCO zone lineman and we just switched to a man scheme so we'll see how that goes.

Ok, I'll say it... Brick has been somewhat shaky at times at LT. I am all for drafting an LT next year. Worst case outcome, Brick is moved to RT and the line is awesome.

Yeah, there are some guard questions next year but that has nothing to do with the first round pick.

What!? Yeah sure, let's waste a premier pass protector who's average in run blocking on the right side. -.-"
(and I'm not discussing wether Brick has been shaky or not, just the retardation of what you propose).

Getting back to the OP I think next year both Moore (age and limited effectiveness in run blocking) and Slauson (last year of contract, best suited for a WCO and not really a great puller) will be replaced. Hopefully Vlad will take one spot (being groomed as a LG but I think he fits best as a RG) and the other one we'll see...

The only reason why Vlad may be better at LG than RG is that playing between 2 All-Pros is easier than playing between Mangold and an unknown...
