In week 1 the Jets had 462 total yards of offense with a rookie QB.

In 2008 with Favre our highest total yards in one game was 420.

In his first game Sanchez threw for 272 yards. Favre's highest as a Jet was 285 yards. No 300 yd games. Kinda surprising considering how well he played the first 10-11 games.

I know it's only one game but it looks like the Jets will be letting Sanchez win games instead of just trying not to lose them. That 3rd and 3 to Keller after the pick 6 fumble TD says it all.

    1. It wasn't a pick 6 - it was a interception that was fumbled. That play was a huge fluke...

    2. It will be easy to let Sanchez sling it around if our defense keeps shutting teams down. He has a great team around him, so Ryan and his coaching staff are going to let the kid play. They shouldn't hold him back.

    3. We didn't need to know.

You know it's early but it looks like they will let him win games?

Both those statements don't go together.

We will let our defense and our run game win games for us. Sanchez, as good as he looked is not going to be lighting teams up week in week out. He is a 22 year old rookie. Be happy he looks comfortable out there and don't expect too much.

I don't know why people claim Favre played "so well" in the first 11 games of the season. He played well vs ARZ, @NE, and @TEN. All the rest of the games he was an average pivot. The NYJ last year could have won 9 games without Brett Favre.

of course they're going to run the ball but the pass to Keller was impressive. Instead of calling a nice short conservative pass on 3rd and 3 they went for the kill. they're obviously going to run the ball with tj, leon, and hopefully greene and play great D.

It will help to keep the opposing defense honest if they think that our QB will not be shackled for the game. The Texans were stacking the line kinda thinkin we would be running alot with our first time QB and he would be on a short rope. And as they found out, if need be, we can beat you through the air. If we are doing a good job running the ball, Im sure we wont see those numbers from Mark.

I think the Jets and their fans have alot to be excited about this year, and should just move on past last year. Different players and opponents. Don't see how these comparisons have any bearing on this years team.
