Hadn't seen this yet on the board and perhaps this should go in the general NFL forum, but I think this has great relevence to us. I have a feeling we were the team. They got turned down by Tennessee also. Lee Rasizer, of the Rocky Mountain News, reports an unnamed team was the third team to turn down the Denver Broncos' offer of two first-round draft picks for their first-round pick in the NFL Draft. The team was draft somewhere in the top five of the draft, other than No. 3 or No. 5. I can't imagine who Denver is trying to make a move for at 3. I'd think Brick, Mario, or Vernon Davis if I had to guess.
I don't know. Shanahan is a bit unorthodox. If he really likes a player, he'll do what he has to. I know they lost Putzier, but didn't they pick up another tight end?
I would love to have 3 picks in the 1st round.....If we turned this down we need to reavaluate things. We were not one player away last year...we need to draft 3-4 guys that wil be quality starters for a long time, thats how we maximize this #4 pick we got.
WBAY, citing the Rocky Mountain News, reports the Green Bay Packers turned down the Denver Broncos' offer of two first-round draft picks for the Packers' selection at No. 5 in the NFL Draft. If they were willing to go to 5, it was Davis. They know Mario won't be there at 5.
We would only have 2 cause Denver only has one....unless this came out before the San Fran trade. They might be offering next years #1 with this years #1 and some other picks.....if that is the case, I don't think I'd d it.
If 4 and 29 aren't even worth 2, I can's imagine 15 and 22 being worth 4. That said, it would have been a great step in the right direction, especially with another late rounder thrown in to even it up. Then we could get the best RT available, an impact skill position (RB or TE), and a center in the first round.
Thats why we turned it down I think. I'd love to have gotten more picks too but I gree with turning the trade down if it was only those 2 picks.
