If that's true...you have to ask "What the hell is going on in the huddle?" The only thing they should have been worried about was the fucking first down marker and then maybe the actual sideline to stop the clock. That kind of brain fart is to be expected from bad college football not from millionaire professionals.
The Chain Crew douche moved. I would have done the same thing. That fucker needs to stay in one spot.
Helen Keller was one of the greatest overachievers of all time. How about we revisit this if DK reaches the HOF.
Guys, for christ's sake do some research on this. The chain crew guy MOVED the fucking first down marker about 1 yard down the field TOWARDS the Jets end zone so a lot of people, including Keller thought he had the first down. Use this thread instead: http://forums.theganggreen.com/showthread.php?t=59229
He did move, but Keller needs to be smart enough to run BEYOND the first down marker and not right at it as he assumed. That play on Keller more than the marker guy.
Check out the video. http://sports.espn.go.com/new-york/nfl/news/story?id=5569360 The entire night I was pissed off about Keller but if you take a look at the video the guy holding the chain was a yard in front of where the orange tab is on the field. I think anyone would have made the same mistake.
Same play happened in the Chiefs-Chargers game a little bit later. This one happened in the first or second quarter so nobody threw a bitch fit about it. The yellow line isn't painted on the field. He made his cut a step early. shit happens.
This...The arrow is the real deal. The chain guy is not. Chain guy is there primarily for measurements.
I am not talking about the fake yellow line on the field I am talking about the orange arrow thats on the field. The chain guy was a yard in front of it instead of standing at it.
The guy moved after Keller had jumped up in the air. His momentum was going to kick him out of bounds and he wasn't going to get the first down even if the chain guy stayed where he was. Chain guy moved to avoid a collision. The blame lies solely on Keller. He needs to run the route at about 12 yards deep, not 8 yards.
I get what your talking about but anyone who has played football on a field before knows that it is pretty easy to lose track of exactly where you are on the field. It's even possible to not be focusing on an orange marker when your attempting to catch a football. It was a play that needs to be made at the professional level but Keller losing track of where he was by one step is the least of my worries about the offense.
Keller should have made a mental note coming out of the huddle where the hash mark is in order for him to make the 1st down, period. The hell with using Chain Man as a reference, use the white stripes on the field. That's what they're there for.
