I have been trying to figure out this tiebreaker with the Steelers. It is very interesting. Jets: (10-6) overall. (7-5) in AFC. Steelers: (10-6) overall. (7-5) in AFC. ESPN claims the Tiebreaker is based on best win percentage in common games. So what were the common games? The Jets beat the Browns. The Steelers beat the Browns twice. The Steelers lost to the Patriots, the Jets lost to the Patriots but also beat the Patriots. The Steelers beat the Colts. The Jets beat the Colts. It comes down to ONE freaking team. The Oakland Raiders. They played the Steelers tough at home, but Pittsburgh survived 38-35. As for the Jets? We know the Jets lost in Oakland 34-20, in one of their worst performances of the year. Fitzpatrick was injured the opening drive. Geno Smith came in and played like Geno. That's life I guess. It is a stretch to completely blame Geno of course, haha, but it is funny how it all worked out.
Nah ... That loss was 100% on the defense. Geno came off the bench cold and got us into the endzone twice. He did his job in that game. The defense didn't bother to show up.
Idzik still fucking us. Sheldon jumping off sides and Geno freaking Smith. Gotta cut ties now before it's too late.
Really? We're gonna blame Geno fo the biggest dogshit defensive performance I've ever seen? I can't stand Geno, but this is really a stretch. Let it go.
Not only did he cost us the playoffs, he is solely responsible for global warming, cancer, gun violence, starving children in africa and the violence in the middle east.
Haha it is more funny or interesting, than serious. I also said it was one of the team's worst performances of the year and you can't completely blame Geno of course.
Geno in that game ... 265 yards passing, 34 yards rushing, 2TDs 1 INT (the Raiders got no points - missed FG) The funny thing is ...If he played like that all last season, we probably wouldn't have Fitzpatrick on the roster.
Dude.... Are you kidding me? The Jets defense missed a zillion and one tackles. One play comes to mind instantly, the play where the Oakland running back (I think) broke like 7 tackles and just ran down the sideline for an easy 6 points. Come on man.
Oh my God lol Jet fans are incredible. Had the Jets beat the Pats in Foxboro they would've also won the tiebreaker.. Gonna blame Brandon for that one? Had the Jets not lost to the sorry ass Bills at least ONCE the Jets would have made the playoffs. Had the Jets showed up against Philly the Jets would have made the playoffs. Had the Jets beat the Texans with TJ freaking Yates at QB the Jets would have made the playoffs. Had the Jets not lost 4 of 5 games in the middle of the season the Jets would have made the playoffs. Had the Jets not let Derek Carr throw for 333 yards and 4 touchdowns and fall behind 28-6 at half the Jets would have made the playoffs. But rather than any of that let's act insanely stupid like the OP and posters agreeing and blame the Raiders loss (better yet, offseason) on the backup QB who for a backup QB played well aside from a couple bad sacks for a whole 20 minutes (Offensive TOP) of the entire season. Congrats on being an idiot.
Unreal, Geno Smith is the biggest reason they even had a chance. If Geno doesn't act like a douchebag and get his jaw broken then this season would have been real pain. Everything the Jets accomplished is thanks to Geno.
Jets fans like you are incredible for taking anything too serious, when it clearly was not written as such. I also did not just randomly choose the Raiders game. So bringing up other losses makes no sense. The loss is what helped the Steelers win the tiebreaker. Not that complicated.
You do realize that those other losses that "make no sense" were the reason we were put into a tiebreaker scenario, correct? Also the Pats loss which was #1 in my post mattered just as much as the Raiders in the tiebreaker. Had we won either game and still been tied with PIT we would have won tiebreaker, regardless this thread is stupid.
