As is my sunshiney nature, I hope the Philly game provides an opportunity for someone to step up and show they belong. Of course the problem is Philly won't be playing their starters, so it's not a genuine test.

Pitoitua has looked pretty good against subs, maybe this is his chance for more reps. Also, I suspect this will lead to more plays for VG in the three point stance.

But yeah, we need some help here. Waiver wire news?

Why not drop The Ghost at DE for week one at houston, considering that Ellis will join Pace on the sideline, and start Westermann at OLB? Given the potential injury to DeVito and the lack of dept on the Dline, it seems to me that positioning The Ghost on the line with orders to rush the QB should be considered.

Ooof. Bad news. Kinda wishing we had held on to Mosley.

Can't Pouha play end? I dunno, maybe we roll with four down lineman, Douglas, Jenx, Pouha, Gholston... Scott, Harris and Westerman at LB?

I liked seeing Scott blitzing off the corner Saturday.

It should be considered, but if Gholston has taken a year and a half and he still is struggling with OLB, I'd rather not confuse him. He'll play some DE, but he's not the solution, just a small part of it.

We saw Gholston is a liability against the run. Moving him to DE only compounds that problem. Among other things, the kid struggles big time at shedding blocks.

its times like these where you start looking into picking up a grime street free agent like when we brought in chester mcglockton out of retirement at his burger joint.

Chester McGlockton was the most unusual Irishman I've ever met.

Wasn't Herm/Bradway's favorite position to draft DLine? This is kind of amusing too me. Oh yea, and GO PITOITUA!

Pouha also played DE for some snaps against the giants.. while jenx was playing in the middle of the line..

We could use Pouha but then we wouldn't have depth at NT. No matter what happens, if Devito's out, we're going to have to play someone who's unproven at either DE or OLB.. or sign someone who's washed up. Obviously Rex is going to change things up but I'd like to see Gholston stay at OLB, Westerman as a backup, and Pitoitua given a chance at DE. He's looks like he could be a beast. He's too tall to play nose and I figure he has to be one of the best options we have left at DE.

this I believe will give guys like pitoitua and Zach Potter a chance to shine and play their way onto the 53 man roster against the Eagles. To be honest Potter is a guy I like, he is a quiet guy who just does what he is asked, there is definately a spot for him in the NFL as a situational guy. He also has the perfect measurables for the 3-4 end.

I think we're going to see Pitoitua, Pouha, Potter(Yay, alliteration!) and maybe Douglas rotating at that spot. Ryan likes to really jumble the fronts so we could even see Green and Jenkins move out to the ends on certain plays.

Bah, I can't stand Pouha. If Gholston wasn't so disappointing, Sione would be the defensive player I would bash the most.

We are going to try to keep next year's picks. This draft is going to be very deep. Unless Lito shows up with a pro bowl season I don't see the jets resigning the guy.
