Under the radar guy reported by NFL.com. His pro day was pretty impressive (4.53 40, 38-inch vertical jump, 10-1 broad, 24 bench reps and 6.76 three-cone) for a 6'2" 220lb CB who will play FS in the NFL. Check out the play at the 4:45 mark in the video below. He shows excellent recognition, burst, and timing along with great technique. He is another late round guy to keep an eye on. Not going to claim I have done much work on him. This is the first video I have seen. He is coming from a low level of competition, played primarily in zone coverage and isn't an average ball hawk (while it's in the air). Most of his interceptions were right place, right time or horrendous throws by the QB. His best break (out of zone was at 0:36, but his best coverage, showcase of skills was at 1:22) only 2-3 good examples of ballhawking against inferior competition over a multi-year highlight tape is not good enough imo. Checking stats he had 11 INT's in 4 years (as a 4 year starter) and only had 2 in his final 2 seasons. It's probably below-average ball hawk skills imo. That said he is clearly a sure tackler and has excellent tackling form. Its easily the best part of his game. There are a few plays on the sideline where he could just shoulder press the guy OB, instead he wraps up and forces the guy to the ground. Thats a rarity in todays game. He definitely isn't afraid to stick his head in a scrum to help bring a ball carrier down. He is excellent in run support, but most of the plays he made ripping off of Olineman/fullbacks to make plays in the backfield/stretch runs, he won't be able to do to NFL caliber starting OL imo. He has special teams written all over him, his tackling ability alone will get him a shot in the NFL. Probably will be very lucky to get drafted, likely a UDFA I would guess.
Is Jerry Glanville still the coach at Portland State? Wonder if Elvis took any trips to Portland to pick up those free game tickets Jerry always leaves for him.
