Buccaneers | Team restructures Brooks' contract Sun, 5 Mar 2006 16:32:16 -0800 Jim Flynn, of PewterReport.com, reports the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have restructured the contract of LB Derrick Brooks. Sources said Brooks' restructured contract frees up approximately $5 million in cap room in 2006, and is believed to come with guaranteed money and extended years on the deal. Brooks was originally scheduled to have a base salary of $5.750 million and an $11.657 million salary cap value in 2006. Good move by the Buccanears. He is the leader of that defense. Keeping him is HUGE.
Definetly, superstar player and major leader of their defense, their D wouldn't be the same without him.
