https://www.leafly.com/news/science-tech/what-is-delta8-thc A chemical compound extracted from the cannabis plant that shares a really similar structure to Delta 9 THC. Apparently legal in any state when you can possess and cultivate hemp. I only learned of it's existence today. Not entirely sure what to make of it yet.
Yes. The CBD store near me sells the gummies. It's a nice light body buzz. I've only eaten one at a time. I hear if you eat 2 or 3 it gets you pretty high. Definitely better than normal CBD.
I think my only worry is that it's synthesized. How to find good, safe delta-8 As delta-8 is relatively new to the market, it may be challenging to find products that are what they say they are and actually contain delta-8. When shopping for delta-8 products, check out a producer’s website to see if they have information on how they source and create their products. Quality, tested products usually have a QR code or batch number on the box that allows you to look up test results on the producer’s website. Stay away from products that aren’t tested or have questionable test results, as you won’t know if they even contain delta-8, and they could potentially contain harmful substances. I'll probably do some research before I check it out.
Not one of the dispensaries near me carry any yet, looks like the closest would be an hour for me. I guess I am still what would be considered a newb though so I probably couldn't tell much difference. I did see the one spot in Orlando infused it with Granddaddy Purple though and that is one of my go to strains so I will be trying it out when I can get some. I'm guessing what they have in Texas would be the straight hemp product, be interested to see how it compares. Edit: Reading it again I am wondering if what they have here is a Granddaddy Purple Hemp plant instead of the Delta 8 infused with the standard GD Purple cannabis
I've read some places that it's synthesized, some that it's extracted, and some that it can be D9 THC that was converted to D8 through a dehydration process. Definitely a little too hazy right now. As for the why, I'm in Texas right now which has a hemp production law and CBD is legal but the THC laws are still very restrictive. I think K2 and bath salts are enough of a cautionary tale for that situation.
These are the ones sold near me. https://www.alignable.com/east-greenbush-ny/your-cbd-store-east-greenbush/sunmed-above-delta-8
So, my guy tells me it’s weed with a slightly different chemical profile so it skirts the law in many states that still prohibit weed, but it is NOT synthetic. No reason to use it where real weed is legal.
I wouldn't say that's totally true. There are times when I'm just looking for a nice tingly body high and the delta 8 stuff fits the bill. It's a really nice relaxed feeling without being "high." Mentally you are as sharp as you were before you took it. If there is weed like that I haven't found it. One thing I did learn is that delta 8 THC will show up on a drug test. So user beware. If you are subject to drug testing you should probably avoid the delta 8 products.
Yeah it's potency is a lot lower that Delta 9 so they end up having to use more of it in a concentrate. Costs more to process and not cost effective.
Is there any anxiety associated with it? I dabbled everyday for nearly a decade until I jumped in one time, got anxious, and was never able to shake that anxiety when I tried again thereafter. I do like the relaxing feeling the regular non THC CBD gummies and such give off, but I may order these and take a crack at em.
