I dont think fans should be immediately trying to go back to games (assuming there will be fans next year). Even if we get Lawrence and new coach that means nothing when it comes to this organization. They need to earn it and that means looking like a real NFL team, not the crap they've been putting out there for years. To me, when the didn't fire Gase after the mini-bye week that told me they straight up didn't care about the product on the field. If they don't care then why should we? Every other org would have sent Gase's ass packing right now. We can all appreciate this masterful tank job they're doing, but that's what good organizations do.
Do you think Lawrence might be thinking twice after the Burrow acl. The Jets have nothing, maybe a number 2 wide out and a lt. Might roll the dice and take out an injury insurance policy, for 20 million or the amount of his rookie contract and stay in school. Every qb needs to get that second contract to really change the families lives The Bengals at best look like the Jets are going to able to field next yr.
I have no problem with it. I think what Gore & Flacco are doing here for the Jets is remarkeable professionalism to say the least. They've paid their dues here. Gore deserves every carry he gets. The young guys should watch and learn how a old pro prepares, plays every game it can only help.
Gore is Adam's buddy so yeah, he's gonna get the carries. If you're a QB, you can watch and learn from the sidelines. If you're not, you need to be on the field learning how to read blocks, hit holes and learn how your OLine communicates. Can't do that from the sidelines.
If you are drafted #1 overall you will go to a bad team. That's just how it works. Who knows who will be at that spot next year? He can wipe his tears with the $24 million signing bonus he'll get as the first overall pick, as part of a $36 million contract.
The two young guys did very well last week. I would have tried to get them some more snaps, especially after watching Gore get stuffed throughout the first half.
