Yea losing one of the best #2s in the league is sure to help us in a game we likely need to score 30+ to win.
Welp, isn't this where a GM is supposed to shine? Having Quality backups in the NFL ? That said, Bowles needs to step the fuk up too and stop being predictable on blitzes etc... but I believe if a coach puts players in positions to succeed it's up to that player to make the play... iow, time for dudes to step the fk up!
I'm afraid that this game will get ugly fast, it's all about matchups and not having Decker, will allow Pitt to double Marshal and play man on Enunway and Anderson or Peake. Fitz is going to try to make plays to his secondary receivers and it worries me. There only chance of keeping it close is to keep Fitz under center and try to establish some kind of runnning game so as to not become one dimensional.
I think Powell and forte are going to be the Keys to this game. Week 2 Gio Bernard torched the Steelers for 100 receiving yards and 2 weeks ago sproles lit them up. I read somewhere that shazier is not playing? Any truth to that? We need to get our backs out in space and let them work. I think @matt robinson 17 said it last week about lining up forte and Powell together. This week should be the week to let it happen.
Dawinner shld have done this since week 1, a matchup nightmare for a defense, line them up against LB's out wide
This will just double the number of times he stares down Marshall. We'll throw less until we're down 2 scores, which judging by the play of the secondary, should be 2 minutes into the game.
He's probably a little tired from playing for the 9ers thursday nite but we can give him a call and see if he is not busy
Great point. The Chiefs and Seahawks are both great tackling teams that get teams off the field by suppressing yards after catch on throws over the middle. It's a big reason why Fitz was forced to go deep more than he'd like to and it didn't end well. Hopefully we can get back to using Forte and Powell in the way Gailey envisioned in his quick passing offense.
