I don't normally make threads like this but I think the JETS D would greatly benefit if they could get this guy at a good price. Here are his stats from the last 127 games: 423 tackles 43 1/2 sacks 5 INT's 16 FF 11 FR Blocked 3 kicks Also he is 31 and could be good for a 2-3 year contract.
Yes. He's not an ideal size to play DE for us, and he's not an accomplished pass rusher. Highly questionable fit.
Ellis is 285. Some Bears fans will say this guy can't get it done but that is cuz they are bitter. I have watched just about every Bears game last year and he is very powerful that can still get up the field. Also playing on Rex's D can only make him better.
Be careful what you say, guys. The Jets could sign him and then you'll be giving a grudging kudos to someone with a measley 111 posts.
What does my post count have anything to do with it? I hope you don't honestly think that your knowledge of football is that much more spectacular because I have a life and you don't.
Which is just the reason why he deserves his own thread in the Jets forum... SIGN HIM NOW!!!! GET IT DONE!!!!
Well, he's still talented, and I'm sure due diligence will be done, but I don't know how he'd fit in.
-Too small to play DE -Doesn't know how to play OLB or move in space -Older and not likely to pick up such a radically new system so easily Pass
I remember him coming out of Florida, he would have been a great fit then, but not at this point in his career.
