Got a couple right the last couple years. Wish we could've got David Johnson and Stefon Diggs like my mock had last year. Can't complain next year if I don't make one this year so here we go.. Round 1 Pick 20 QB - Paxton Lynch Looking forward to seeing if we make a pick at 20. Whether we use Wilkerson to trade up or if we simply trade pick to get more picks. Assuming we do pick at 20 theres obviously a lot of options available. I'd like to see us finally get a OLB that could get to the QB or a solid OT but I think if Lynch is available the Jets just may do it. I'm still under the impression Fitz will be back due to him having no other options allowing Lynch to sit for 1-2 years. Petty can also continue to develop into a nice backup. Geno can be traded. This pick won't be Lynch it will be a defensive lineman because we don't pick anything else but if hell freezes over who knows. Other options - Spence, Briggs, Decker. Round 2 Pick 51 C - Nick Martin Seems like we've ignored immediate needs in recent drafts so the trend continues. Nick Martin should be off the boards in rounds 2-3 and with the ability to set behind Nick Mangold or play guard until Mangold retires which who knows could happen next year Martin makes sense. Other options - Cook, Whitehair Round 3 Pick 83 Willie Henry Could see any position here. Specifically NT with a few 3rd round prospects available. With Harris and Henderson becoming dinosaurs and Davis sucking his way to Cleveland an ILB could be had. If OL hasn't been addressed yet it should be. If no QB yet please no Cardale. Jaylon Smith? Round 4 Pick 118 Kenny Lawler I don't think we'll take a WR but if we do I like Kenny Lawler in the middle rounds. Still no OLB (whats new). Lawler could compete for time and learn behind Decker and Marshall as he is more of a complete WR as opposed to the deep-threat (hopefully one day) Devin Smith. Round 5 Pick TBD Nick Kwiatkoski We don't have a 5th or a 6th round pick. I think at some point Mac will change that. Whether it's trading back a few spots in the 2nd or 3rd or trading out of the 4th for 2 5ths or some sort I think he'll add to his 6 picks. For that reason my guy that is a stud underrated LB that can make every tackle is Nick Kwiatkoski. Round 7 Picks Will be happy if we don't trade these for bums like Zac Stacy. I'd absolutely love to land Martin in the 2nd round. think we might need to trade up to get it done though... Also really like Whitehair, but the same thing applies. those guys are early 2nd round values imo. I'd be excited if we drafted Lynch. my main concern with him is what is between the ears. how is his football knowledge, how do players and coaches respond to him, and what type of character does he have. those are questions that can only be answered thru the interview process and background checks. i know Mac and team are doing due diligence. so if they draft him, they were satisfied with those answers, and that's enough for me. extra points for taking a Punter, tho i prefer Hackett. good job.
