I think Mario is the guy for this D, but I also think he will go #2. Question is, would you then prefer D'Brick, or Winston Justice + Joseph Addai? I'd prefer the latter if we could trade down. If trading down with the Lions for their first and second rounds were a possibility, I could potentially see the following: #9 (from Detroit) - Winston Justice #29 (from Denver/Atl) - Manny Lawson #35 - Gabe Watson #40 (from Detroit) - Joseph Addai #71 - Spencer or O'Callahan #97 (compensatory) - Omar Jacobs #103 - Greg Eslinger Is this a possibility? Getting both Watson and Addai may be a stretch, but I'd gladly take Latui also. Have the USC front line. I think Leinart would have to be available as bait for Det or Ari to trade up though. What do you think?
I think a new rule on this board should be if you are projecting a trade down scenario you have to say who the team is trading up for. Why is Detroit giving up a 2nd round pick to move up a couple spots??
I always ask this question and I never get an answer: Why does Detroit want to move up? Who are they targeting?
That certainly is the key question. I'd see Ari trading up if Leinart was available. I'm not sure if Det would. The trade up motivation would essentially be a QB, D'brick, or maybe Hawk. Are any of those on the radar for the teams between 6-12?
wait a minute.. Matt Leinart is available, we have a desperate need for a QB, Leinart is the best QB in this draft and we are trading him away for a 2nd round pick. Good gosh, I hope you don't have any GM aspirations..
I wasn't looking to get into the Leinart debate. I think a QB at #4 is historically taking on too much risk, especially one with questionable arm strength in a windy stadium. I'd take Justice and Addai, or even Justice and Latui over Leinart, yes.
Agreed, Addai doesnt really get me, but Latui does, and it would give us some nice options, besides, Bush, Williams, Maroney and Drew in the 3rd I am not really excited about the other RBs
I'm not exactly sure if I would take Addai, but "Justice + ???" is definitely a better package than just Ferguson.
