I think there are an equal number of elite LTs and elite DEs -- and I think that both are equally important to their respective side of the ball -- considering that OTs and DEs square off directly against one another. This is a bad comparison for you to make. There's a symbiotic relationship between DEs and Tackles because for a DE to be dominant he has to be able to beat most tackles and for a tackle to be dominant he has to be able to defend against most DEs... do you see what I'm saying?
I get what your saying, but your logic isn't quite right. Let's make this simple, think about all the "elite" DE in the league now, or the entire history of the NFL. Then do the same with the LTs. I will almost gaurantee, there will be more elite/franchise DEs then LTs. The only caviot would be DEs include 2 positions, RDE and LDE. I might be wrong, but IMO it is easier to find a dominant DE than it is to find a dominant LT.
actually, strahan is a POS off the field ex: giants training camp in albany, the players eat a lot from Fridays, went their one time, made sure he got seated in the front right where everyone could see him, some little kid went up and asked for his autograph and bitched the kid out and basically crushed him...thats just one instance... and well, who can forget the last offseason when his wife said he beat her, which is likely true, since the guy is on steroids anyway
That's fine. I'll just say "Right Side DEs" vs LTs. Being a solid tackle in the NFL does not have as much media attention or celebration wrapped around it because it's not a flashy position to play. That's just my opinion.
