Yeah it was a good show. Did you see the end when Strahan punched Tom Arnold in the face and they were fighting on the ground. I wonder if it was staged. Kind of like an early april fools joke.

Did they admit that it was fake yet. Or is that just your opinion.

Yeah, they would be ripping Strahan apart and go on and on about Tiki and Strahan. It makes sense.

    A Charmer not a Harmer

If they could just implant a mean streak in this guy I might have a change of heart about making him the 4th pick.

Where do you come up with this? Just because a guy acts like a normal joe nice guy does not mean he is not a nut on the field. Look at Polamalu,Strahan nuts on the field normal respectable guys off.

You can make me a believer ...

Just find me the quote from someone in the know that says what a mean SOB he is on the field. Not dominating, athletic, superior etc. Show me nasty from someone who faced him or even a coaches quote. If he is, it will be in his bio because NFL personnel evaluators seem to look for it.

What does it matter if a coach or opposing player says he's "nasty?" Throughout his college career, he's been a solid offensive lineman. Because he appears cool, calm, and collected on a tv show and does the talking on the field but isn't a "mean SOB" translates a poor showing in the NFL?

The logic in your post makes absolutely no sense. You're basically saying you want a "nasty" offensive lineman rather than one who's "dominating, athletic, and/or superior?"

    I want what you're on.

He certainly seems like a really good guy. He will be a good fit anywhere and I would love to see him in NY but I unfortunately don't think we will.

Walter Jones was said to lack a mean streak when he was drafted. So were plenty others of the games top tackles today. Teams have come to realize that that characterization is meaningless.

People correlate having a mean streak and protecting the quarterback but that's all it is. Plain and simple if you're an athlete and can protect the quarterback from getting killed and can stay healthy that's all that matters. That guy is D'Brick we need him for our Jets.

Well this is a compelling arguement if I ever heard one. Give me a break.

Look. Everyone has their favorites. Everyone can make an argument for their guy and belittle the talent of the other pick. The same argument be made for Mario "We don't need Mario we just signed Kimo...we need______." Just like people who say Brick won't be that much of an upgrade over Jones, are you kidding me? People have their favorites.

The fact of the matter is, the Jets need both Williams and Brick. This question is which they will take. Personally, the offense is horrid and the O-Line needs more help. Also, a franchise LT is much harder to find than a franchise DE. IMO, they will take Brick. But I would be happy with Mario too.

I am in the Super Mario camp. Not sure he will be there at #4, as it sounds like New Orleans likes him a lot. They're hoping the Jets trade up for Leinart (which I hope they don't) and they take Mario at 4. I don't think the Jets want to trade up with all the holes they have, because they're sitting pretty as it is with 6 picks in the Top ~101.

I wouldn't rule out D'Brick at 4. And I get the feeling that Tangini like UVA players (hot after Schaub, then signed Pope). So you know that they have a phone line into Groh's bunker in Charlottesville, and will find out everything they need to about D'Brick. As for the mean streak, I don't really know that that matters. Kyle Turley had a mean streak, but it didn't make him a great LT and caused the team more problems than it solved.

As for Leinart, here's a snippet from Peter King's Monday Morning QB today. If he is a selfish player, doesn't love football and lacks high character, I don't think Tangini is touching him:

"8. I think Matt Leinart didn't do himself any favors by not running a 40-yard dash at the USC workout. He's getting a bit of a Hollywood reputation among scouts and to not have done the sprint that everyone has to do before the draft -- a full three months after the end of the college football season -- makes some NFL types wonder if he's been preparing with enough vigor."

I don't know about franchise DE's being easier to find than franchise LTs... think about how rare a player of abraham's caliber is. It's extremely tough to find edge rushers who can provide you with double digit sacks and change a game plan. I'm not saying mario williams will be that guy, but I think finding a franchise X at any position is difficult. What makes these guys elite is that they are in the top tier of their position, where you draft them is simply based on speculation of what the GM/HC and personell guys think they will become.

It is just my opinion. But if you list the so-called "elite" DEs and LTs, there are more DEs. List the franchise/elite DE and LT during the history of the NFL, and there are more DEs than LTs. Franchise DEs do not neccessarily have to be great pass rushers, some can be great at run defense. But I get your point.

What I was trying to say was that people can massage any stat or argument to make their draft pick look better. The fact of the matter is the Jets need both Brick and Williams. But they can only draft one, and IMO, it will be Brick, but I wouldn't shed any tears if they went with Williams.

Im so excited for D'Brick he is just such a force on the line. I watched the senior bowl and he made mario williams look like pop warner DL this guy is the real deal and i think he could be as good as orlando pace coming out of college if not better. If the jets get him i think he can anchor down the line for years to come and ill take a page out of the parcells book and say that winning starts in the trenches. If we get D'Brick and then mangold at C we have redone our O-line and could possibly have one of the best in the league, making things much easier for Pennington who deserves one more year.

Kendall, Moore, Mangold, D'Brick, Jones= success

then get a RB in round 2; Maroney?

How was mario williams at the senior bowl, isn't he just a junior?
