I don't want Rashad Jennings...we need to draft at least two linemen - offensive and defensive.

    1. A guard to groom behind Alan Faneca.

    2. A defensive end to rotate in with Ellis and Douglas.

While I agree about the linemen, I am intrigued by Jennings. He has the size and production you look for. Depth at RB is needed with the age and contract situation of Jones. I would not be upset if he was one of our 2nd day picks.

I don't want him before Andre Brown, Shonn Greene, James Davis, and Cedric Peerman.

I'm not sold on Rashad Jennings, but I think he has the potential to become a good player down the road.

He's not as powerful as some believe...and that's why I'm not big on him.

Peerman and David won't come close to having the impact of Rashad Jennings in equal playing environments. I can understand the arguments for Greene and to a lesser extent Brown.

But OG, WR and DE are bigger needs at this point in RD 3 so I wouldn't be disappointed if we passed on Jennings/Greene/or Brown.

    That's your opinion...

Peerman is the most complete back left in this draft...when healthy. That's a HUGE problem though...he can't stay healthy.

If you can't stay healthy in college, chance are you won't survive in the NFL. There are other legitimate reasons he won't be touched until the 4th round as well.

I didn't say he should be taken early, I just want him over Rashad Jennings...

I'll respect you for going out on a limb. I hope your wrong, but my money is on RJ going over Peerman.

I like Green over all of them. He would be perfect for a power game. However, I think RB may be a luxury at this point though. RBs transition to the NFL very easily and we won't need one until 2010.

I think we address a blocking TE in free agency (Franks?). We need a youthful DL, WR and OL depth.

    Igleisas
    D Williams
L Murphy (although I'm not sold on him)
    Gilbert
    Alex McGee

I disagree with you on the need for a guard. Anyone who we draft after the third wouldn't be a likely starter (ever) anyway, and we can easily draft Faneca's replacement next year or in two years. Taking a guy in the 7th for pure depth would be okay, but the team did great with just Hunter and Turner as their only backups last year on the O-Line and that's what they have again this year.

I'm hoping for Gilbert or Magee (3), Barden (4), a RB that will hopefully slip to round 6 (Peerman, Davis, Coffee, Sheets, someone like that), and Pascoe or another blocking TE in the 7th.

    What?!?

I just looked at the top three rushing offensive lines in football from 2008 - MIN, ATL, and CAR

Minnesota has two first round picks, a second rounder, a sixth rounder, and an undrafted guy starting.

Atlanta has a first rounder, a second rounder, a 7th rounder, and two undrafted guys starting.

Carolina has two first round tackles, a second rounder, a 3rd rounder, and an undrafted guy starting.

One of our starting guards, Brandon Moore, was not drafted.

To say a guy drafted in the third or beyond won't start EVER is completely ignorant.

If this team drafts a guard like Trevor Canfield or Antoine Caldwell in the third or fourth round, he won't have to start RIGHT AWAY, but he can learn the scheme and take over when Woody or Faneca is done in New York.

    6) Bear Pascoe
    7) Kevin Huber

I believe we draft RT/OG in rnds1-3 next year , if we can pick up a undrafted guy okay but they won't use a pick imo

i see them trading back in the 3rd to pick another 4th or early 5th.

    then I see us going

    DE
    RB
    WR
    TE
    P

Any of the gurus can tell what our 3rd would be worth in a trade?

    A lower 3rd and a 4th? Less?

Isnt this the time to deal TJ and get an extra 3rd.
To get two of Gilbert, Greene or Barden.

I never, ever put money on I-AA prospects...

I can't believe Jasper Brinkley and Darry Beckwith are still on the board. This is insane.

San Jose St. isn't exactly USC either. But I see where you're coming from. I agree with you wholeheartedly on Brinkley, I cannot believe some of these teams are passing on him.
